Frost DPS has a special situation

I use frost bomb currently http://www.wowhead.com/spell=113092 with glyph of fireblast to pop it early with a brainfreeze FFB followup to send out over 200k dmg in about 2 seconds time, including my filler frostbolt between the bomb and the blast to ensure the game registers the bomb so it'll pop on the blast.

My friend mentioned the following trinket from MV: http://www.wowhead.com/item=86792, but it requires me to deal periodic dmg to proc it. The only thing I could think of as a frost mage to proc it would be to swap frost bomb for living bomb http://www.wowhead.com/spell=44457, and glyph of fire blast spreads the effect. It also procs brain freeze.

Could I use living bomb? The only reason I would use it is if this specific trinket did indeed drop for me.

I don't see why you can't use Living Bomb or Nether Tempest, they don't change their damage done depending on the spec you are in (e.g. a Fire Mage with Frost Bomb does the same damage as you do, no spec-boost!) and for AoE I do believe a Spread LB is atleast as good DPS as Frost Bomb (With Nether Tempest only being useful on consistent multi-target fights such as Stone Guard or Will in MSV)

and well I thought about it, if I spread LB, that spreads the dots and I guess with more dots going I'd proc the trink more often?
