It would help if you had an armory link for people to look at
Hey guys, I was wondering what I could do to improve my protection paladin.
Other than gear, could I benefit from having other gems other than the ones I'm currently using?
Reforging? Different Enchantments?

You're under the CTC cap fully buffed you're 530 mastery rating short. probably best to sub some stam gems for mastery gems.
you really ought to take Glyph of Seal of Truth in place of Hammer/CS, and you really shouldn't need the points in hallowed ground. I recommend taking the lava walker boot enchant over the pure mastery if you skip the pursuit of justice talent,
Get the Fire of the Deep Valor Points trinket, the VP ring, reforge the dodge on the tier gloves to mastery, the parry on the pants to mastery, and the parry on the shoulders to mastery and you should be about at the CTC cap with Kings, Battle Shout and dodge buff food.
Talents:
Protection tree:
Eternal glory is a shit talent, get rid of it.
Judgements of the Just is a compulsory talent. It reduces your incoming dps by a fifth.
Hallowed Ground is a shit talent, get rid of it.
Put the points from Eternal Glory into Judgement of the Just, and the points from hallowed ground into Pursuit of Justice (Retribution tree).
Glyphs:
All the prime glyphs are pure threat, so...
Glyph of Seal of truth...best dps glyph in the entire game. get it. Replace HotR glyph.
Holy Wrath (major) is an incredibly useful glyph. I'd use it instead of Divine Plea.
Hammer of Wrath is a pointless glyph, might save you the cost of two HoW in the entire boss fight.
