Are these Viable for fury TG? Gurthalak, Voice of the Deeps

So doing lfr last night i landed myself one of theses

Now due to the fact it has no secondary stat bonuses are these really viable for fury as I would have to do some major reforging to get back expertise to 26 if i had 2 of these babies. Wanted to ask b4 i spend my hard earned on Landslides etc.

I am Prott main spec but due to the faceroll 1st few bosses only needing 1 tank i do fury a fair bit as we are currently only on Ship fight at the mo.

TMG said in another thread here that if you want to use two of these they should be different item levels. Apparently, same item level=same spell id on the proc and doesn't work. Different item levels=different spell id and no conflict.

I recently got my second Gurthalak (we've had a few fellow TG Warriors in the guild) and started dual-wielding them. I haven't tested the performance statistically but was pretty underwhelmed when my raid dps dropped each of our past two nights. I reforged to the standard priorities. The only thing I can come up with is that the OH weapon doesn't proc (which provides quite a bit of the weapon's utility).

Has anyone experienced this dps loss or, in the alternative, confirmed both the MH and OH proc? I've seen inconsistent posts elsewhere and would appreciate a tankspot user's input. Thanks.

According to this post, if you are using two Gurthalak with the same ilvl, only one of them will proc

Yup I'm now using a 403/390 combo and regularly get 3-4 tentacles up at the same time. On a long boss fight this can be 2mill+ damage from the ticks. Just transmog then so the colours match^^
