I know he's got a few gems that are incorrect, but well, he is not bad at all for a guy that was ilvl 333 less than two weeks ago. The fact that Beth dropped her trinket too is just gravy.

How close to capped would I be with mastery food and elixir?

Fairly close. Grabbing the tier 12 pants (for jp!), craft 378 boots (should be less than 1.5k on any server) and grab the new vp trinket or mirror + gemming correctly should push you to full ctc. Add the 5 man chest (avoid/mastery) and you might be able to reach full ctc with a flask.
