I thought the longest sub you can currently buy is 6 months

It doesnt matter if your year is already paid or not. All you need to do is accept the ToS saying you will keep an active WoW subscription for 1 year using whatever payment option you want. So if you already have a year pass just go and sign up for the annual pass.

It will start from this point on I'm almost sure right now to release. Anything in the past is non-existant. Gotta start now. Might start when D3 is released.

What are you trying to point out here? I could only find this:
"Any qualifying subscription time remaining on the account at the time of accepting the Annual Pass offer may be applied toward the 12-month subscription commitment.
For example: If you had started a 6-month subscription 2 months prior to accepting the Annual Pass offer, 4 months of your remaining subscription time would be applied toward your 12-month subscription commitment."

So even if you had a sub payment from 2 months ago there's no problem.

My first impression is that the zones will be really nice looking, but this feels lame not epic. But I need more details and will give them a chance. Again this is my first reaction just based on the trailer.

I see it more as a way to keep people playing UNTIL the next expansion, and get them hooked during the beta.

No it isn't, and if you think so then you're just dillusional. :P If they wanted to reward people who've been paying for a certain amount of time then I'd get one just for playing for the first 5 years of the games release. But no, if I want the beta I have to pay for a whole other year of subscription. (Which theres no way in hell I'll do that as the game is hella boring now.) So yeah, its nothing more than more dangling the D3 carrot infront of our faces hoping we'll chase after it. I've lost a lot of respect for Blizzard in this.

Okay, at this time, I'm going to call it a wash for the class panel. I'm going to take the words from our sister site, WoWhead, and post it there. I'll enjoy this one but when the next panel comes, get ready cause I'm back on board!

Or you could try your luck in the random pot, you don't even need an active wow sub to get picked.

I dont post here very often, but here's my two cents.

Blizzard likes money. WoW used to have some lore, some story, something for most people to do. Dungeons were easy, Heroic raid bosses were hard and pvp needed (still does) skillful people whether they played in BG's or arenas.

Blizzard didn't get everything right in Cataclysm and as a result lost some of their precious money. The hardest hit were the kids and social players who now cant faceroll the only content accesible to them, the random dungeon. So, what do you do in such a situation, bring out the cute fluffy teddy bears ofc

    No.

This is awful if it is truely the focus of an expansion, except it makes excellent business sense. Kids, social players and well, thats it, a big subscriber base, only ever expanding, now have everything they want. New raid (loot) finder, ez mode dungeons according to PTR and fluffy bears to romp around china with. Great. Thus adding to the number of incompetent insta-geared clueless that we simply do not need more of.

Besides the absolute top tier hardcore raiders (a very small subscriber base) and hardcore PvPers (again, small base) I cant imagine anyone sensible wanting to see the expansion. God help those who RP. I wait with baited breath, hoping that this is a joke, to see what the outcome will be.

Lore, you said it yourself, no-one but Blizzard can kill wow. Where do you keep your crystal ball?

Blizzard is not forcing you to do the annual pass. They themselves said specifically that it's for people who see themselves continuing to play WoW but dont want to dish out even more cash for D3 (Im paraphrasing of course). If you find WoW so boring now just drop it and pick up D3 and save yourself $100 or however much it ends up being.

They arent dangling a carrot at all, they're offering an alternative for people who are going to spend the money on WoW anyway.

I'm not a kid, not a social player (My guild is actually called Antisocialism for a reason. lol), not insta-geared, and far from clueless. I'm not a hardcore raider, barely PVP. I DO RP. And I hope this is true. I don't care about the free Diablo 3. I DO care about the new class, the new spec options, the pokemon battles, the new zones and dungeons. Heroic SM is going to be a mess EVERY TIME. I love that. Heroic Scholo should feel as heroic as when it was a 55-60 dungeon. Thorfurd, I quoted your post not as a direct attack, but to demonstrate the variety in opinion. From what I've read thus far, this next xpac should be very interesting. I'll reserve my opinion on the level of "fun" until after I've played with things.

Note: I will NOT RP on a panda. Ever. Ew. I will, however, roll a panda and find it awesome that pandas can't be DKs.
I'm way better at holding my liquor than a panda.
