    Baleroc 25man power auras to help track healing switches

    Hi guys, I did this for my guild, and thought it would be good to share it with the community.

    I have made a set of power auras for healers in the 25man Baleroc encounter. We found that it is hard to track who has the highest vital spark stacks, and who was currently on vital flame.

    After using this technique, we beat the enrage timer with almost a minute to spare and had a nice clean kill.

    The way we were calling the healing transitions was, we ensured that two healers were on the tank at any one time. Using the power auras, we tracked when the healers were gonna run out of the vital flame buff, then we chose the two healers with the most stacks of vital spark and told them to take over healing tank instead. rinse repeat. we had 4 people healing raid at any time, except when decimation blade was coming up, you call for one extra healer to heal the offtank FAST (we picked the healer who had the highest stacks of vital flame).

    in order to call these healers out, use the power auras that I have linked at the end of this post. It shows:

    1: who has which buff (vital spark or vital flame) - and it will put the corresponding icon in place so you can see visibly
    2: next to the icon, it will give the healer's name
    3: on top of the icon it will give a stack count for vital spark, so we know how many stacks that healers currently has
    4: to the left of that icon there is a timer, which tells us how long till the vital flame buff (if the healer has it) has till it drops off. Once dropped off, another 2 healers should take over tank healing so the previous healer can stack more vital spark buffs.
    5: Finally, it will show a small icon to the very left of that IF the healer in question is suffering from the Tormented debuff. This is to let us know that although they have built up stacks, we cant rely on their heals so much as it will be reduced by 50%


    I've uploaded a screenshot of how it looks in the fight, please note that I only have a screenshot from a bad attempt we had when we were learning the fight, but you get the idea. The left icons (which you can't see in the screenshot) are for the Tormented debuff on the healers which will show only if we are not doing our jobs right.

    Ok, so if you have something better then thats great, but if you want to use this power aura, there are some things you should know:


    in order to get the aura working for the raid, you need to spend about 3 minutes setting it up. The setup sounds long-winded but really it isnt once you know what to do:


    1: the first time you ever use this, you will need to import the aura set using the code which I will paste at the end of this post. You NEVER have to do it again, just the first time to get the source code for the aura.


    2: once you start a raid, you need to tell the auras who the healers are in the raid, or it won't show the buffs for them. so to do this you have 18 auras which are in the set. the set of auras will be found by typing "/powa" then going to the tab which you have imported the aura set into. There are 3 auras for each healer (one to show the vital spark/flame icons, one to show the name of the healer, and one to show if the healer is suffering from the Tormented debuff) the first three aura icons on the global 9 tab are for healer 1, the next three icons are for healer 2 etc etc.


    what you need to do is right click each aura, then paste the name of the healer in the bottom text box, where it says "unit name":

    repeat this process for the name of the first healer in the next two auras. and repeat the process for the next 5 healers. So basically the first 3 auras would have "healername1" in the "unitname" box, the next three auras would have "healername2" and so on and so forth.

    I have made auras for 7 healers, but if you use 6, then delete or disable the last set of 3 auras

    now for the code, to import this code, you go in game and type "/powa" then you navigate to the "Global 9" tab! click "import set" and paste the code in the text box:


    WARNING: make sure that if you already use Power Auras, you do not import this set into a tab where there are currently auras as it will overwrite any auras you have. If you accidentally do this, Alt-Ctrl-Tab to the task manager, select the WoW.exe process and end process, you will come out of wow and not save your power auras.
