PvE - SMF vs Arms Min/Max Question

So I am curious as to community impression of which has higher DPS potential when looking at SMF with double Heroic Lavaspines vs Arms with either 372 PvP weapon or a non-heroic 2 hander (Shalug, Zin'rokh, Ashkandi, Akirus all available in my bank).

My DPS is decent with a few 25m Normal Rank #1 WoL parses but I want to Min/Max as much as physically possible and am considering Arms until the 4.2 nerf to see if it might provide slightly better performance.

Any thoughts/suggestions? If I had a Heroic 2h I would definitely give it a go but I hesitate to make the gem/reforge/etc switch when I only have a 372 PvP 2H weapon or a non-heroic 359 2H weapon to use.

I'd stay SMF unless you want/need high aoe dps or get your hands on a 372 weapon.

But Simcraft still shows a 359 ashkandi on an arms specc with BiS gear otherwise above 2* heroic Lavaspine.

It seems like my DPS is a bit lacking on the few Heroic 25m fights my guild has been able to do (only 5/13 due to attendance issues) anyone have any other suggestions for me based on my current gear/spec or is it mainly just a gear/rng issue right now? Comparing myself with top WoL parses it seems like I should be able to do a bit more but then top WoL parses seems to be mostly players from 13/13 heroic guilds with BiS gear & faster kill times at this point.


EDIT: Remaining upgrades to my SMF set to reach BiS
- Rings
- Wrist
- Cloak
- Head
- Neck
So 6 pieces overall, I guess that would make a fair difference for top end WoL parses =(
When comparing with Landsoul he has:
556 more attack power
1.3% more hit
2.83% more crit

Doesn't seem to be much I can do about that until we start downing more heroic bosses, it all drops from encounters my guild hasn't downed yet.

supposedly arms can top both tg and smf in full bis gear, however since you have 2 heroic lavaspines go smf for now.
