Cloak of Thredd vs Wrap of the Great Turtle for Bear Tank
As the title says, I've been waying these to back pieces for my bear tank.
I currently have Cloak of Thredd (http://www.wowhead.com/item=63473) and when I first started gearing I was working on Hyjal rep to get The Wrap of the Great Turtle (http://www.wowhead.com/item=62383). I had read early on that it was BIS pre-raid and I liked the 359 iLvl. However, the more I look at it the more I've come to the conclussion that the Cloak of Thredd is superior. Whereas the Wrap has great secondary stats and more stam, giving up the agility was too big a lump for me to swallow.
SO am I thinking right? I've given up on the Hyjal rep for now to go ahead and get the Earthen Ring ring.
I have both available to me at a good price relatively speaking. The gem slots on the Morrie's looks like it would make it worth an extra 8K (a leatherworker in the guild will give me the crafted one and another guildie will sell me the Morrie's for half price.)
Another advantage is that maybe I can used the leatherworking mats to get the belt instead because there doesn't look to be many drop opportunities for belts (we're working in BWD right now).
If you're trying to decide what rep to go for, save the Hyjal Rep for last. After reforging, the two cloaks are very close in overall value and you may find you prefer one over the other based on the specifics of a given fight.
Morrie's Wrap is substantially better than the Assassin's Chestplate. Blizz was supposed to put a socket in the Chestplate with 4.0.6 but forgot, and with its poor itemization it's well below all of the other 359 leather chests.
