[Cataclysm] Fury Warrior BiS (Heroics) PRE-RAID - Discussion

Hi all,
after a quick search on the forum I didn't manage to find a proper discussion about this specific topic.

I'd like to start this discussion by showing you a gear/gem/enchant list that I put together based on all the info I could find so far.

A few notes :

• Scarab-Inlaid Crossbow : (omg a green !) This is so far the best item I could find (pre-raid) that suit all our current needs as fury warrior. The alternative could be Thundercall (heroic), but the gain in strength isn't worth the loss of both hit and expertise IMO.

• Legs Piece : Alpheus Legguards was my first choice but according to wowhead.com the item isn't present in the game anymore.

• 2H weapon spell : Hurricane was to me the best alternative to Landslide which is (at the moment) just unaffordable (it sells between 7 and 10k on my server...) and I won't spend 2 times this price for blues anyways

Hopefully this should help new fury warriors (such as myself) to define a little bit better what gear to aim for.

I also would love to hear from you guys if you have any comment or critic

Meta isn't activated. It may be after 4.0.6.

After 4.0.6 mastery will be more valuable apparently.

Do you really need 19% hit?

http://www.wowhead.com/item=59367 with a +40 str gem would seem to simply overwhelm the raitings on carab-Inlaid

you can also try to pvp with a healer, get 3 wins, and buy the epic throwing weapon. The stats suck, but high str, decent stam, crit rating/reforged crit rating is usable.

Loganisis : The high hit or not is apparently still in discussion over elitist jerks, on this forum and every other places I could find a discussion about it. Still, as you know it, hit rating is currently one of our main stat to get a decent amount of continuous rage income. Waiting, of course, for the next patch, but until then this is "I think" a good way to go. As you can see, I also made sure to keep crit in the race, which should add a nice dps boost.

Although, I'd be really curious to know about the any good alternative !

@pal - I think you're seeing more WoL Fury with ~12% hit than 19% hit. Though a lot will have to do with variable factors.

Frost DK or Surv Hunters for the melee swing timer buff and if you're using landslide or hurricane, as hurricane would allow you to drop hit signficantly as you're going to have pretty good overlap between hurricane and Flurry... I think. So how much hit would be 'ideal' is going to be variable.

What is the 'Patchwerk' fight for Cata to use as the baseline, or is there one?

War Edge is going to be:
107 Str
161 sta
72 crit (.4%)
29 hit/exp/mastery (depending on reforging)

Kickback will be
40 Str (gem str)
143 sta
85 agility (75+10 socket bonus) which gives X crit (where are the conversions for Cata posted?)
65 crit (.36%)
32 haste (~.24%)
10 hit/mastery/exp (reforged) (assuming min/maxing given this is a work on BiS)

Summary:
War Edge has 67 strength edge

Kickback has (Agility crit - .04%) edge

Kickback has 32 haste - (10 reforged ratings - War Edge's 29 reforged ratings) more ratings.

Any inital thoughts on the compartive value of crit to str (I know strength is more valuable than crit, but 67 str = X% crit for the tradeoff)

I'm just wondering why you wouldnt go with Foe reaper + Blade of the Fearless
Instead of Dual Blade of the Fearless

*edit*I guess unless you're stating this for the next patch 4.0.6
