How to set aside time IRL

I often find myself inconvenienced by not being able to join raids.

Often this is because work or family interrupts and needs me during raid times.
No matter what day it is, as long as a raid is scheduled, they have interrupted it consistently every week ever since Ruby Sanctum came out.

No matter how much I try, I keep getting pulled away (99% of the time by family 'needing me') and I feel obligated to help them. They throw a fit if I say no and won't stop till I either cave in or hang up, which makes me not want to even play anymore.

It's literally been months since I've stepped inside a raid, and I am sick of being left behind. Any suggestions?

Best I can suggest is schedule long in advance, discuss these boundaries with your family, encourage them to be occupied with something else and cave in less. I suspect the respect for your choice to play Wow is not there, if you can get that in place it should make your life easier.
