Best blue tanking trinkets for warriors?

Hey guys, I'm a long time reader and very rare poster here, but I always value Tankspot advice above that of all others! I took a really long break from WoW during WoTLK because I just didn't enjoy hardly anything about Wrath, but I'm back now, along with a lot of my old guild, and as we're getting ready to begin raiding, I'm looking to make sure I'm on the right track, gear-wise.

Currently, I'm trying to decide which two trinkets I want to primarily use, out of the four that I have. Obviously I may switch them out to tailor a certain fight mechanic, but generally speaking, which of these tfour trinkets should I be using?

    Earthen Guardian
    Throngus's Finger
    Porcelain Crab
    King of Boars

I'm using the first two at the moment because Throngus' Finger gives me avoidance on the proc, and I don't have a whole lot of avoidance at the moment, but I'm also aware of the fact that Mastery is pretty awesome as well. Speaking of Mastery, I have the mastery JC trinket too... The Use effect is DPS-oriented, but it's pretty nice too.....

Is the Mastery proc more valuable than the dodge proc? Should I get over my epeen and drop the stam trinket in favor of the mitigation and avoidance ones? Is Mastery better than Parry or Dodge? Will Batman escape certain death? Will Smith? All of these deep questions must be answered!

With the first two trinkets equipped, I've got the following stats:

    145,093 health
    35,439 armor
    10.23% dodge
    13.64% parry
    38.88% block

Mastery is uber for warriors. Reforge everything into it, seek it out wherever possible (within reason - I wouldn't consider using a DPS trinket to be viable no matter how much mastery is on it, unless you're building a threat set).

For that reason I would use the Crab over the Finger, however one could make a case for Impetuous Query being better than both (I don't play a warrior myself, I just read the threads on here that are all like "ZOMG MASTERY MUST HAVE GET IT GET IT GET IT"... so I can't say for sure :-P ).

For heroics you can wear dual avoidance/mitigation trinkets, or one of each - it doesn't make a huge difference, to be honest. Stacking pure stam is, aside from some of the heroic mode raid bosses (or so I hear), not viable. For some of the entry raids, I'd suggest one stam trinket and one avoidance/mitigation trinket. So the Crab (reforged into Mastery) and the JC trinket, in my opinion.

If you really want to drop some cash, you could do what I did and pick up Alchemy for Lifebound Alchemist Stone which is basically the most amazing thing ever. <3 it

Right now I use the Leaden Despair and started to play around with the mastery trinket from Tol Barad.

mastery is great, mastery procs arent as good though. not saying the proc isnt good but your better off with consistent mastery (dps trinkets are still a no-no, even with mastery). you want alot of mastery to consistently raise your block to mitigate alot of damage and help smooth it out for healers so that when your tanking the healer doesnt see 1 of 2 things happen. 1 you stack stam and you get hit hard almost every time and your healer is forced to spam big heals just to keep you up or 2 you lack stam but stack dodge and parry and your healer keeps seeing your health spike due to dodge, parry, parry then 4-5 full hits with you having a lower healthpool than normal.

that being said what i would reccomend is keeping the first 3 (mainly using the 2nd and 3rd). reforge the dodge and parry to mastery, keep the first trinket for when you need more stam. last one keep for a dps set if you have a dps offspec (king of boars is also great for prot pvp)

I would tend to agree with Captanmurdoc about the proc being not a good thing, only that I happen to run with that trinket for a while now... And I must say it procs alot. Really. I'd astimate myself being with the proc almost as much as without it. 1,7k mastery combined with Shiled block [if you time it right] is insane.

Your hp is a bit low, so I wouldn't recommand dropping the stamina hp yet. When you can sit on around 150k~ unbuffed you can start using 2 avoidance trinkets. My choice atm would be the crab and the parry [reforged into mastery, ofc]/on parry dodge boost [get it off the 2nd boss in grim batol] or crab/tol barad mastery trinket [depending on if the fight is magical damage heavy or not...].

Thanks for all the well-informed replies! It seems that the consensus, at any rate, is that I do need to be reforging to Mastery on my trinkets and other gear (I've been reforging some of my dps pieces I'm using as tank gear into dodge instead - gotta change that), so I'll be doing that right away.
And the alchemy trinket is really nice also, but I'm happy with JC and mining as they benefit tanking as well on top of making it extremely easy to make gold. Just buying 5-6 of each type blue quality gem each day and cutting and reselling them keeps my gold totals rising swiftly without doing anything else.

Looks like I'll be rolling with the two avoidance trinkets for now, subbing in my JC Stam trinket for raids until I have more health, though I do like the looks of Leaden Despair. I've always liked procs more than Use effects because I generally save my use effects for when I'm in big trouble, and thus they aren't used as often as something would proc.

I think I'm going to like this Mastery deal, though. It reminds me of BC when I had my block set over 60% with a ton of block value (I miss that stat) and cruised through Heroics, shield slamming away.

Best trinket pre-raiding is JC stam one + the heroic stam one from stonebore.

Heroic Leaden Despair (stonecore last boss); Baradin Wardens (broken mirror or something); Petrified Twilight Scale (armor still hasn't been adjusted yet); alchemist trinkets/JC trinkets.
RNGesus - Saving you unreliably since BC.

If you want armor there are several level 80 choices better than the terrible http://www.wowhead.com/item=56370 I really have a problem understanding why people recommend it.

The old http://www.wowhead.com/item=47735 is available for just an hour's work, assuming you don't already have one.

Reforging everything you can for mastery is not ideal if you pick up any points into the talent Hold the Line. If you put anything into that talent then your stats should follow the order of Matery > Parry > Dodge and you should reforge only dodge into Mastery and leave your parry alone. That is also because dodging is the only mitigation tactic out of the three that is completely useless for a warrior because we take no damage, but we also gain no rage. Where as with Hold the Line we have a chance to get a critical strike boost now and a little extra threat and at least on a parry we do gain rage. And mastery is what smooths out our incoming damage. The more mastery that we have, the more predictable damage we should take for the most part and not have as many spikes though the course of a fight.

I hope you don't really think that dodge is completely useless.

I don't actually mean that it is useless, I mean it more figuratively. Compared to the other two stats, mastery and parry, it dodge isn't really all that great aside from not taking any damage. Mastery allows us to take less damage and generate a good deal of rage if talented properly and parry allows us to mitigate some damage and and generate some rage while also giving us the ability to proc hold the line to generate a little more threat possibly. Dodge doesn't really seem to do anything fancy in comparison to the other two aside from letting us take no damage. That is what I mean by saying it's completely useless. Yes taking no damage is a good thing but I was just comparing it to the other two stats and how much we can actually get out of them is all. Sorry if I confused anyone on that.

Dodge and Parry are on diminishing returns. There are going to be times when dodge yields more avoidance per point of rating than parry, especially if you blindly go for parry every time because of hold the line.

Returning to the original question, some additional considerations:
    - Consider whether you can actively manage cooldowns on two trinkets with everything else you have to worry about. I tend to feel most comfortable with one "use" and one "equip" trinket, although certain fights it's nice to whip out two 'use' trinkets.
    - Impetuous query has a really nice 1 minute cooldown, making it very spammable, and shouldn't be overlooked.
    - The Tol Barad trinket (http://www.wowhead.com/item=62471) is farmable, so shouldn't be ignored when considering your plans for trinkets. Just how quickly you can get it depends on how often your faction wins. Each time you win, it's possible that the 'prison' dailies will change, giving you an option for an additional 3 tokens.

I would agree then that dodge is inferior to the other two stats. But you are still going to want to keep it up to a certain degree because it will be cheaper as far as DR goes. Personally I have let it drop to 9% in favor of hitting 15% parry since it didn't seem to drop my total avoidance by a significant amount.

To put in really simple terms what I've been doing as far as gemming/reforging/enchanting, I basically just pick a number that I think is appropriate and move stuff around until I get there. Basically what I've been aiming for right now is 150k unbuffed HP, 24% overall avoidance with parry as high as possible before it takes a significant DR hit (15% seems about the max at my gear level), and getting my mastery to about 20 (50% block). After that I'll be putting just about everything else I get into mastery until I get enough new gear to significantly change things. Others may not be willing to reforge and re-gem all of their gear after getting just one new item though.

I would extend that threat to some epics:

I was able to obtain the following trinkets(all heroic versions):
    Darkmoon Card: Earthquake http://www.wowhead.com/item=62048
    Heart of Thunder http://www.wowhead.com/item=56370
    Figurine - Earthen Guardian http://www.wowhead.com/item=52352
    Porcelain Crab http://www.wowhead.com/item=56280
    Throngus's Finger http://www.wowhead.com/item=56449
    Impetuous Query (normal version) http://www.wowhead.com/item=55881

    ...and what about:
    Impatience of Youth http://www.wowhead.com/item=62469
    Bedrock Talisman http://www.wowhead.com/item=58182

    What would you recommend using?
I am using The Darkmoon Card and Porcelaine Crab at the moment. My biggest doubt is the Darkmoon card because I think the HP cooldown will not be very useful, or am I wrong. What about the Heart of thunder? Is it worth using, considering wotlk armor gear getting nerfed? Or should I save my points for the Bedrock talisman?

    Reforged I am at
    35962 armor
    12.48% dodge
    14.03% parry
    47.77% block

    12 Expertise
    4. something hit

I could reforge some more expertise to mastery and I have to remove the expertise enchant on my bracers I think. I also regemmed 2 of 3 jewelcrafting gems from +101 stam to +67 mastery. Is this the right way to do or should I remove the last STA gem as well to put another mastery gem - or reverse that action? What about +30 stam + 20 mastery gems in yellow sockets. Remove them to +40 mastery?
Btw here is my armory link:

I would appreciate any help because right now I am very confused about stat weighting.

    Thanks in advance.

The Organ should be nerfed with the upcoming patch.
