    Tanking weapon speed???

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on optimal tanking weapon speeds in 4.0.1 onwards. If HS has a 4 sec cd would slower weapons be in favour again??

I suspect fast will still be preferable.

    1. Most tanking weapons are already fast.
    2. Rage production benefits from weapon speed.

Rage generation is normalized, independent of weapon speed. Roughly 6x(wepspeed). A fast 1.5 tank weapon will generate 9 rage per hit, a slow 2.6 will generate 15.6 rage. Crits will produce double.

The faster weapons will make rage generation smoother.

HS will be on a 3 second CD (shared with cleave) and be an instant attack off the GCD.

I personally will be using http://cata.wowhead.com/item=50654 until Cata

I made this post as i am a mt/ot for my guilds icc10hm. The problem is i am still stuck with Falrics wrist chopper (very unlucky with tanking weapon drops) but i have the heroic axe off gunship. Just wanted to make sure if it was a viable switch.

Crits cause double? Didn't Blizz post in blue they got rid of that for Rage a month ago or so?
An introduction into WarTanking (no longer updated as I've retired from WoW - the concepts will still be mostly accurate but the numbers no longer will be.) - http://www.tankspot.com/showthread.p...101-The-Primer
