    Trinket Question

I did not see this posted allready, but if the answer is here just delete and redirect me please.

I don't know all the math behind it, so if somone could run the numbers or show me where somone has, it'd be apreciated.

Which is better for pure EHP purposes:
    Pure stam trinket -- http://www.wowhead.com/item=49116
    or
    Stam + Shield proc -- http://www.wowhead.com/item=47216

The black heart. Any useful proc usually outweighs pure stam unless you are dealing with a 100% magic fight (which does not exist in current content).
RNGesus - Saving you unreliably since BC.

They are the same item level and therefore supposedly have the same amount of itemisation.

So it boils down to what would you prefer, a static 44 stam or a 7056 armor proc? The answer is usually - it depends on the fight. I would definitely use the Black Heart on Marrowgar, Deathbringer Saurfang, Festergut; but would be more tempted to use the Charm on something like Lady Deathwhisper.

If you want to compare the pure EHP of each, I would first work out your EH with the Charm equipped. Then for the Black Heart it would be something like the 126 stam, plus the 7056 armor proc x uptime (so if the uptime was 10% it would be 7056 x 0.1 = 705.6).

It becomes trickier when you think, is it really effective health if you can't always rely on it to be there? There's no point in looking at overall damage reduction of the trinket, avoidance helps reduce overall damage taken and we all know avoidance is "bad".

You also have to consider that the effective uptime could be greater than what logs would suggest, due to taunt swap mechanics. Deathbringer Saurfang is a good example, where you taunt off the other tank and the trinket procs pretty much straight away, and is up for 10 seconds out of the 17 or so you're tanking him. The other tank taunts back off you and during the time he is tanking, the internal cooldown of the Black Heart resets and is ready to proc when you next taunt.

So which is better for effective health? Its really hard to say and due to the nature of proc mechanics it can be more or less useful in different situations. Gear for the fight! Hope that helps.

You're actually better off calculating the gain of 7056 armor and then multiplying that difference with the uptime. 705.6 armor does not always give the same EHP as 7056 armor with a 10% uptime.

Personally, I'd go with the Black heart + The corroded key

Ideally, you'll have http://www.wowhead.com/item=50364 + the corroded key.
