heroic strike (on live) turns your next main hand white swing into a "special". So to answere your question. No your off hand will always miss a lot.
So forgive me for asking something that is probably blatant and I am just being dumb. I got to DPS on both Saurfang and Festergut last night and when looking at my parse results I notice I missed wayyyy too much.
I was trying to time my Heroic Strike clicks around my swing timer however I didn't know whether HS would go off on both MH and OH or if it was only MH? Can I spam the f**** out of HS to avoid having misses by causing my OH to be yellow attacks along with my MH?
For reference here are the two parses I am referring to (ignore the bad DPS, it was before I got the mace/belt lol).
WoL 25m Heroic Festergut: http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/u...=10927&e=11167

What is Landsoul's spreadsheet referring to then when it says "Use HS + 0 Miss bug: yes/no"?
So when I compare logs with someone like Edcullen from Og who currently has the #1 highest US WoL parse on Heroic 25 Festergut (ignoring the fact that he well outgears me and has Shadowmourne) I see a few things and am wondering was it really just RNG or am I missing something?
His Fight Time: 3:11 (191 seconds)
My Fight Time: 4:00 (240 seconds)
His DPS: 21,954
My DPS: 14,190
His hit rating = 163 and his melee misses: 3 (3.1%)
My hit rating = 218 and my melee misses: 8 (6.5%)
His Heroic Strikes = 32 hits, 60 crits total of 92
My Heroic Strikes = 41 hits, 43 crits total of 84
Obviously if my fight lasted 49 seconds longer and he had 8 more Heroic Strikes then me I REALLY poochscrewed my HS usage. Would that account for the miss discrepancy? I have a fair amount more hit then him but missed a lot more then he did.
There were a lot of other factors regarding DPS such as gear/hysteria/etc but I want to improve on things that I can control. Apparently I am better off spamming the heck out of HS rather then trying to time around my apparent MH swings.
If landsouls spreadsheet puts your HSF at 100% with 0 incoming DPS, then you can viably macro HS in to every single one of your abilities. Doing so helped me a lot with minimizing the number of misses I have..

"I am an elitist; I will never accept mediocrity and I openly show no respect for stupidity"
Heck even Landsoul's top20 parse he only missed 5.4% of the time and his armory shows him only having 139 hit
EDIT: It appears that my HSF in Landsoul's spreadsheet for ICC with the 30% buff is at 109.88% so basically I need to go nutz with HS as much as physically possible (with 0% buff I am at 100.98% w00t).

The OP is referencing the apparent glitch that when HS is queued for your MH then your OH uses the special attack hit table miss rate (8%) rather than the DW normal attack miss rate of 27%.
The answer is always queue HS, do not try to time it. Keep it queued. Fewer white misses. At 10k DPS you should be in an inifinte rage scenario where you don't have to worry about spamming HS, you'll have enough rage.
It's good practice even without the glitch as it makes sure your MH attack is always a HS rather than a white.
