    Prot Warrior + Cruelty

I have been warrior tanking for a while now and ive seen a lot of prot warriors with Cruelty+1 or 2 i currently have it and was thinking maybe its not worth the 1% extra crit id still have 10% crit wats te diff of 1% more i was thinking that improved rend might b better for threat wise

The standard deep wounds spec covered here: http://www.tankspot.com/showthread.p...-Tanking-Guide is usually a good "general" spec.

15/3/53 is the most used build for prot warriors, you can move those two points out of protection and put them in cruelty or improved rend but they usually are not preferred by most. so the answer to ur question is neither, find somewhere in ur protection tree to put those points :P

    btw this is my build

I was thinking of this kind of build http://www.wowhead.com/talent#Lqr00fZhZmItrx0zidIzsGo since i can only use my shield wall currently once in a fight excluding lich king there isn't a use for putting any points to reduce the CD on it

looks pretty solid to me, just remember ur damage shield talent when it comes to certain achievements or quests where you need to keep someone who is attacking you alive.

That is true for that talent but i could always spec out of it for certain fights or have an other tank do it since i only raid now so for keeping ppl alive vs threat it would b better for letting an other tank grab it

the weekly icc quest last week involved keeping <insert name> alive during the fight against Lady Deathwhisper and my group almost failed because the other tank had that talent plus the pally had ret aura on us so the guy who's name escapes me barely survived with around 1k health. if i had that talent we would not have done the quest and missed out on five free frosties

hrm what my group does for that weekly is just have a druid root him and let the tanks just do what they normally do its the simpliest and most efficient way of doing it

Glyphed and talented the CD is 2 minutes on Shield Wall. Our DPS is lower than opitmal so our fights last longer and I often find myself using 2min 40% SW multiple times. A lot of it has to do with your raid.

Full Kingslayers, probably only going to use it once or so. If ICC is still progression, using it a lot. Heck, if we get unlucky with DPS on slimes for PP I've used it 3x in one fight (with the heals all the way across the room).

Do not use Rend in your rotation, put those 2 points back in Imp Heroic Strike. It's a total waste of a GCD and a threat and DPS loss to rend in your boss rotation. It will not be any good for AOE tanking until Cataclysm talents hit anyway.
