Rend Check Macro

Hello tankspot readers. First time poster but i have been enjoying your videos and forum for some time. Heres the goal:

if (rend is active on target) cast Devastate

else (cast rend)

I browsed the WWW for some info on this but came up empty handed.

my question is, why would you waste a global on rend when devastate does more threat and more dmg?

i simply want to know if / how it can be done .

for new posters : there is no need to tell me which does more threat / dps

You cannot create a macro to use 1 skill based on an active debuff, and a different skill to apply said debuff if its not up. Blizzard removed the ability to do that a long time ago.
