Ok, so I am 79 and planning on hitting 80 tonight or early tomorrow. By then i was wondering if i could start doing heroics right away or stick to normals. I'm not asking for people to tell me how to tank, just help me out with gear choices and if there are any 80 BoE items i can buy on a limited budget that will last me awhile. THANKS

Thanks for the help bro. Yea, i was planning on leveling BS, but it would take forever farming the ore and way to expensive to buy it. Hmm...Squishy...hate that...I was planning on TRYING to tank that Frost-lord Ahune dude and see if i could get that tank cape..but idk if i will be able to.
The joys of having your first toon! I remember that. You need to go in with folks you know, and a healer who knows that he probably won't be able to sleep walk through the instance. Grab 4 friends and chain-que the random dungeon finder. Do the Ahune fight as many times as you need for the cloak to drop. (The wrong cloak always drops for me! I need one on a couple of different toons, but the caster cloak drops for my DK, and the melee DPS drops for my priest, go figure.) You won't be able to pull entire rooms, but that's ok. Learn the heroics, learn your capabilities. But take people with you that know you are just starting out, or you'll find yourself vote-kicked too often. It won't take long to pull together a full set of triumph gear. I know. I've done it 3 times in the last 6 months.
