Reccomended Addons for tank and raid leader?

when I watch the tankspot videos, I see very nice addons that are customized to neatly display a lot of helpful information for tanks and raid leaders alike.

What are these addons? and what addons are reccomended (currently using recount, dominoes, xperl and omen)

I would definately like the one that cascades the information to the side of the target of who did how much damage and by what skill.

    Thanks in advance everyone

    - Grid + GridStatusRaidDebuff
    - Omen
    - oRA2 or WTF (Who's Tanking Frame)

Combine with some nice macros (specially mouseover) and you will enjoy playing, imho.

    Also check out:

Satrina's Buff Frames (lets you move your buffs/debuffs around and create custom bars to show specific buffs/debuffs where and when you want)
An encounter addon: Deadly Boss Mods (DBM) or the increasingly popular Deus Vox Encounters
Aggronotifier (Puts a red AGGRO in the middle of your screen when you've got aggro - surprisingly comforting)

    Optional
    Pitbull (highly customizable unit frames)

On the tanking front I'd also strongly recommend TidyPlates: ThreatPlates. I find it truly invaluable for trash or fights with a lot of adds as the distinction between a nameplate of an enemy you have aggro on and one you don't is huge. For example, when tanking the whelps before Sindragosa, I can immediately see if a single one has got away out of maybe 30-40 enemies. Of all the tanking-related addons there are, this is probably the one I'd consider most essential to my playstyle.

For raid leading, I quite like Acheron (allows you to quickly see a simplified combat log for every raid member so you can see what killed them, what healing they received, etc - useful for diagnosing where your wipes are coming from). I also like RaidCooldowns (shows you how long is left on various abilities for your raid - fantastic for seeing who has a combat res, when your next MD/TotT will be up, who can give out Soulstones etc). Finally DeathClock takes your current rDPS and gives an estimate of how long the boss will take to die if that DPS is sustained - it's not terribly useful on a multi-phase encounter with lots of "off-the-boss" downtime (like Putricide or Lich King) but for a fight like Festergut it's great to be able to compare it to the berserk timer or the second Pungent Blight and see whether you need to pick up DPS, can safely ignore the second round of spores or what have you.

I also use most of the addons suggested in this thread (DXE is my boss mod of choice) though I'd never heard of Aggronotifier so I'll definitely be checking that out (XPerl has this function and I missed it greatly when I switched to using Grid).

As a final note, I've never used it myself, but a lot of my guildies absolutely swear by DocsUI so that might be worth checking out. From what I can tell it has some cool nameplates and unit frame type stuff as well as some specialised modules like bite order assignment for BQL so again could be useful to you as a raid leader.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but if it's from a UI used in a Tankspot movie then you'll likely find the answer here: http://www.tankspot.com/showthread.p...spot-video-uis

Technically speaking this thread should probably be in the UI forum as well, just for future reference (and so you're not surprised if it gets moved there and you can't find it)

    Tidy Plates: Threat Plates.
    oRA2.
    Omen.
    BigWigs.
    DXE.
    ForteXorcist.
AVR(I don't use it, but I know a lot of people do, and have very high opinions of it).

I agree with the above posts 100%, to give an idea of just how spot on our friend Mert is.

PS: Mert, can we hug some more please? You give good cuddles. :3

This is probably Miks Scrolling Battle Text. I know it does your outgoing damage, I haven't messed with it enough to see if it can display others damage output.
For those who understand, no explanation is necessary; For those who do not, no explanation is possible.

I think I use an uncommon addon for tanking, nontheless I find it very usefull: Healbot
I learned to know and love this addon from my Priest, and I just kept using it for my paladin tank.

    1. I use it as a raidframe to know the status of all raid/party members: health, mana, debuffs, range from me, etc.
    2. I use it to easily apply abilities on me or other players, simply by clicking a player frame: Righteous Defense, hand of ***, divine intervention, etc.
    3. I use it as threatmeter, that shows me if any player is "tanking" something. If there is, I don't even have to look for him, I can simply click him to apply Righteous Defense for example and take aggro from him.
    4. I can set it to show special debuffs on me and on other tanks, so I know when my debuff is off and it's safe to switch aggro (the 2 dogs in ICC for example).
    5. Other small but nice features, like readycheck indications.

Raid abilities on the side is likely going to be the encounter addon like deadly boss mods or deus. They have timers and warnings for all of the raid boss abilities and are pretty much essential for most raiders to have.
