Avoidance Tanking

Alright, so I know little to nothing about Avoidance tanking but I am looking at trying it out. I'm a level 80 paladin, haven't been gearing very long so it's still sub-par. Anyway, I need to know anything and everything you can think of about avoidance tanking. And, if you have an opinion on why I should/should not take this route, I'd like to hear that as well.

Atm my basic plan has been to stack dodge as much as possible, not quite as much parry. And I am gemming mostly for stam.

Any reason why you want to avoidance tank? Hit the search link above the topics been over and over and it doesn't help you in end raids.

Moment you step into ICC you get a -20% dodge debuff for a start and lots of damage that can't be avoided.

If you just want to tank trash and big mobs around the place yeah works well.

Everything you need to know about avoidance tanking: You're wasting your time thinking about it.
(Perhaps this changes in Cataclysm, but I would not hold my breath on that score.)

Yeah, I heard some good things from a few people so I've been thinking about it... but in the time since I posted my original to now, I've read so much negative stuff about it that I'm scrapping the whole thing. Thanks for all your help guys. Kind of a shame that there's really only one way to tank gear atm but oh well.
