Okay..ONE Of my problems ;0) Everyone in my house keeps telling me it's the frost mages that pwn in the battlefield. I dunno..thoughts? Maybe I could dual spec but I have enough trouble keeping up with one and the changes.

Frost is great in PvP due to its high survival and snaring abilities.

Frost is REALLY, REALLY bad in raids. I know raid leaders that boot people if they seen an ice bubble around a mage. Stick to arcane if PvE is what you want to do.

Based on previous posts, you previously were PvP and were asking for PvE help. Keep separate specs and separate gear for the two.
