277 hardmode loot vs 264 random badge armor pieces.

It's pretty annoying how they made the best itemized gear all from badges, so now you can't even get a pure upgrade from hms no 4-piece heroic set, too much of a pain to even try getting 2 piece, let alone 4.

Obviously 800 armor is superior to 32 stam, but the hm usually has 100-200 rating of avoidance increase. And armor doesn't do jack against most magic damage and as much as people hate it, avoidance is a pretty important stat, not just something you stack.

Avoidance doesn't do anything for magic damage either. That said, you linked the heroic belt twice.

For the chest and hands, use the tier heroic versions IMO. For the belt, etc, probably fine with the heroic stuff as well. You DO want a large amount of armor, and the only place where you care about magic damage is Sindragosa and LK anyway.

I agree with Dreador, the 277 T10 chest and gloves are better than the gauntlets of the kraken and the cata chest. But ya, I do agree that it is weird that friggin' badge gear is itemized better than some heroic drops of higher ilevel. My suspicion is that blizzard is trying to break gearscore mods since a lot of smarter choices are items at a significantly lower ivalue (see H-Band of the Twin Valks vs. Juggernaut's Band).

The vast majority of damage is purely physical, making the badge gear better than those heroic ICC drops, in my opinion. Armor is still king on LK and Sindragosa in that they melee very hard. It's the melee that will kill you more often than not.

Use the +armor gear and laugh at the full heroic geared tank who dies on bosses and wonders wtf is going on.

It wouldn't work if the dude's getting the heroic gear (or not getting it, lol) needed Gearscore. Holmes more/less wouldn't need to pug, no?

Ok so first of all, http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50716 vs. http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50978

In terms of pure EH the 264 badge gear has roughly 62 stamina worth of EH more than the 277, worth much more than 8 defense, 23 parry and 51 dodge.

On a fight like Festergut or LK (Assuming you taunt switch) where the incoming damage is roughly 5% magic the 264 is worth around 52 stamina more, the avoidance value still goes down with the armor.

On a fight like Sindragosa or LK (If you have a pally tank and you as a warrior safeguard intervene him or her) where the magic damage incoming is around 50% the EH value of the 264 piece is still 8 stamina worth of EH better.

    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50978 takes the cake here.

    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50681 vs. http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50968

In pure EH the chest is worth about 65 stamina more, much better then 14 defense, 120 dodge and 70 hit at the loss of 82 expertise.

On Festergut or LK Soul Reaper switching the badge piece is worth 54 more stamina.

On Sindragosa or LK Safeguard intervening the 264 piece is worth about 4 stamina more.

    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50968 is a winner.

    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50691 vs. http://www.wowhead.com/item=50991

In pure EH the badge piece is worth around 31 stamina more then the 277 piece.

In Festergut or LK taunt switch the badge piece is worth about 24 more stamina then the 277.

On Sindragosa or LK safeguard intervene the 277 piece is worth 2 stamina more.

http://www.wowhead.com/item=50991 is the better unless on Sindragosa or LK safeguard intervene.

Out of all these situations the 277 is only better when it comes to the belt on Sindragosa.
