Looking for advice on my spec, and how I'm gemming
so heres my armoury Link: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sh...as&cn=Mongface
We went into icc last night, and I was getting absolutely smashed by the big skeleton guys that are activated by the traps, The thing I'm having a had time trying to work out is that, I've been through here before, with absolutely no trouble, and with the same healers.
To sum up, I'm looking for advice on how I could improve my gear via enchants and/or gems (I've got the armour enchant for my cloak, but it's not showing up), I'm also looking for advice on how to spec for DW Frost tanking, these are the best two weapons available to me and I'm liking the playstyle, I'm just having trouble holding threat against the 6k+ dpsers
Those skeletons are tricky since they have a cleave (both tanks should be stacked like for Marrowgar) so it is a little hard to gauge what exactly your problem is in regards to those guys.
I have a few observations on your gear and gems though they might not be contributing to your squishiness. You are low on hit rating and expertise. The t10 legs and hands would clear that up though (if you buy them or they drop in voa). You can use elixirs and food to boost them until you get those; the expertise food is rhino-worm something and the elixir is called "Accuracy". I would farm heroics for as many triumph emblems as possible so you can buy the Glyph of Indominability---I was skeptical for a very long time about it but it does wonders to mitigation (which dks need in icc). You might also want the valor (or conquest) tanking neck since it has more stam and hit rating.
You might want to get the pvp shoulder enchant (+30 stam and +15 res) as well, though you could save it for when you get the tier10 shoulders.
I do not know too much about dw (I am a 2hander myself) but your spec looks a little wonky. You might consider moving the points in dnd to scent of blood. I would also take the points out of hungering cold and icy reach and put them in improved icy touch---this is a great threat and mitigation ability. You might look around the forums a bit to see if you can find a recommended frost dw build.
If you have 2 skeletons up, don't stack like Marrowgar. It's dumb to get both tanks hit with cleave from each skeleton, especially when the healers will have less cast time due to 2 shouts. Be ready with cooldowns. You may need to blow one if a healer gets locked out saving one of the tanks.
The Glyph of Indominability is much better than Essence of Gossamer...Drop the tanking weapons as soon as possible for slow dps weapons. DW DKs need slow/slow weapons to maximize threat. The Black Icicle from Heroic HOR is a much better weapon than either tanking weapon you're using...Enchant your helm. Switch to the HP enchant on your chest. Switch to PvP enchant on your shoulders...Take points from morbidity and stick them in bladded armor and scent of blood. Take points from Icy Reach and Hungering Cold and stick them in Imp Icy Touch.
Max out those professions. I know it's expensive (time and/or gold) to max blacksmithing. The two extra sockets are worth it. By not maxing out BS and mining, you're missing out on more than 1K hp.
I'm assuming you aren't maxing your professions due to the cost. If that is not true, you can spend money buying some tanking pieces from the AH. The T9 crafted chest and bracers are big upgrades. The T8 boots are better than your dps boots. If you have plenty of gold, you can get the T10 legs and boots.
Your expertise and hit are too low. Changing to 2x dps weapons will help. If you have a good 2H dps weapon, you should consider swapping to 2H frost. The big 2H weapons usually have loads of expertise. Eat expertise food instead of the fish feast.
