Considering gear, what should I aim for?

Hi, I'd like to ask for an "on the whole" advice from you guys.

My guild only runs Trial of the Crusader 10man normal, and will be starting ICC this weekend (already killed Lord Marrowgar some times)

Which gear should I aim for in the future, also what about my enchants and gems?


(In case it shows my Fishing Pole in Weapon slot, I'm using http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50268 enchanted with Mongoose, and http://www.wowhead.com/?item=49835 enchanted with +18 stam)

Currently showing as fishing pole equipped, but even without a weapon and shield your Defense is at 555, so you're well over the defense minimum.

That said, you should change your +20 defense gems. I'd suggest the following:

Helm - 10 defense/15 stamina or 10 hit/15 stamina, your choice.

Cloak - 30 stamina or 10 hit/15 stam (currently 20 hit)

Chest - 10 defense/15 stamina or 10hit/15 stamina.

Gloves - 30 stamina or 10 hit/15 stam, 10 defense/15 stam if you insist on having the +6 stam bonus.

Pants - 10 dodge/15 stamina instead of +16 dodge, or 10 expertise/15 stam, 10 agi/15 stam, again your choice, keep the stamina gem as is.

The only enchant that I could see being changed would be your gloves, if threat is not an issue for you then either +240 armor or +18 stamina would be better. 18 stam will help in physical intensive fights as well as magical fights, where as +240 armor only helps with physical fights.

For gear to aim for, if you're planning on ICC then pieces with high bonus armor on them are highly valuable.

DO NOT GEM FOR PARRY. Even with the "nerf" to dodge from Chill of the Throne, it is not worth it to stack parry. Parry suffers diminishing returns very quickly. If you gem for avoidance, gem for Def/Stam or Dodge/Stam NEVER Parry/Stam.

Only thing I have gotten from ICC other than repair bills is the Tank ring off the Gunship battle in 10-man.

I've been hoping more for the Shield ^^
I'm happy we got a bear as second tank so we don't have any rolling issues.
