    Prot warrior hit rating question

    Hey guys,

I need some expert advice. This is my warrior.

Just a moment ago I got the t10 legs in voa10. Prior to this I had 99 hit, which is pretty damn low, but I just rolled with the punches, however with the new legs I have only 54, on the bright side it was a huge expertise boost. I have read the guide on here about exp/hit and it does say that exp is far more important, but I do wonder if 54 is too low for my hit.

My main question here would be, should I gem hit/stam rather that the usual stam?
I suppose I could just go through a few raids and find out the hard way but before throwing gold onto gems I would like some advice.

    Cheers

Don't worry about your hit. Hit is only a threat stat, and not the best one at that. If your threat is a problem, it is more likely due to rotation or glyph choice. Use glyph of taunt if your afraid your taunt will miss.

Be a Champion, not a hero.

Different people have different opinions of hit/expertise.
Personally, I'm an advocate of hit/expertise.
If you can hit 45k health raid buffed, you've got it made in the shade.
At this point I would start gemming expertise+stam instead of straight stam.
Getting parried sucks, and doesn't do you any good for threat.

Just a few side comments though.
    A. You've got a dodge gem in your T9 pants... NO. BAD TANK. *smacks with a rolled up newspaper*
If you need a red to activate your meta, pick up an Accurate Ametrine and put it in your headpiece.
+12 stam is a great socket bonus, and completely acceptable to gem for.
    B. You've got both Glyph of Revenge and Glyph of Sunder Armor.
Glyph of Sunder is great for heroics, but there are much better choices for raiding.
Glyph of Revenge is well.. Don't make me get that newspaper out again.
If you're using revenge that often for threat/rage, you've got a rotation problem.

So let me ask you something, Are you having a threat problem?

Thanks for the replies, I am enjoying your criticism.

I hit ~49k hp buffed up, and it depends on what trinkets I am using. I logged in now and realised what gear I logged out in haha.

re: current gem in pants, cool, i've regemmed my helm, as I was replacing those pants anyway.

As for glyphs, I'm open to suggestion, I haven't relooked at them in a very long time. I use revenge whenever it is up for the free hero strike. I don't often have a threat problem, but then again I only ever pug things, I don't have enough time to be able to commit to anything.

wow. you didn't have that much expertise this morning :P
those pants are pretty hot. just keep in mind that the dodge cap for expertise is 26, and parry cap is 61.
so you're double dipping until 26, and everything after that is 'half as effective.'

I've personally have never used Glyph of Revenge. And with the changes to Shield Slam and Devastate I may never. In fact I've been dropping Revenge from my rotation since the patch. I'm not going to say straight Devastate-->Shield Slam spam produces more threat, but it is something I'm going to be paying more attention to in the coming weeks. Either way, I look at it as 'If a few free heroic strikes are all that's keeping the rogue from being 1 shot, I have bigger problems.'

I typically carry around a handful of glyphs with me, since they're realistically cheap enough to be used as consumables.
But my favorites are by far:
Glyph of Devastate - I tend to offtank more than not, as I find it more exciting and more of a challenge. So I overuse this glyph quite a bit. During some encounters I'll only have a handful of globals to slap my debuffs back on dps target before I've got to pick something up or be somewhere. This glyph lets me maximize my globals and get my debuffs back up on the target faster in these situations.
Glyph of Taunt - Makes fights like Saurfang or Toravon much easier. I don't know about anyone else, but I find missed taunts embarrassing.
Glyph of Shield Wall - Combined with Improved Disciplines, it gives you a 2 minute shield wall. Allowing you to use shield wall 2 or 3 or more times during an encounter.

Block and Sunder are great options as well. I love glyphing Sunder/Cleave for trash and heroics. But this is just an example of what I like, and what I would suggest to other people.

    Gems:
NEVER EVER USE Yellow (unless below Def cap), Orange or Red Gems (unless you need Expertise bad).
ALWAYS USE Green (Hit/Stam or Def/Stam), Purple (Dodge/Stam or Expertise/Stam) or Stam gems.

    (32.78998947*14)/8.1974973675=56
math is obviously too hard for me.
    It's 56.
