Am I doing something wrong?...

Hello everybody!

Last night I tanked Festergut on the 10 man version of ICC and.... I feel squishy like hell... (we downed him in 5 attempts but still...) Am I doing something terribly wrong? I chained my cooldowns the best way i could but the healers told me that I sometimes got 2 shotted Perhaps i gem too much for stamina? Any advice would be perfect! Here's a link to my armory:

Blood DKs compared to their counterparts are notorious for taking more damage, simply due to the fact that you have a self-heal built into your rotation. Getting 2 shotted is perfectly normal if Festergut is on his 3rd stack of Inhaled Blight, it was just poor RNG. CDs should be blown during this phase and if you run out of CDs, external CDs from either the offtank or any healers would be really helpful too.

Your dodge is a little lower than normal, but that could be your new pieces.

I'm amazed your doing any good threat with that horrible expertise, and it is letting you get parried more than if you were soft capped at 26.

Shrug, you look like the typical progression tank, min/maxing on Stamina which is perfectly fine.

If you continue to feel squishy, you should consider trying Frost Tanking. 2% Reduced damage taken and a superior cooldown (Unbreakable armor > Vampiric Blood, since it grants you armor, and parry and it's on a 1 minute cooldown as well).

I have no problems with threat and my dps friends are pulling 8/9 k dps.

You think that in a frost build i would take significantly less damage?

Probably, you'd be taking 2% less damage period, and you can cycle Unbreakable --> IBF-->AMS or whatever during the 3rd stack of Inhaled Blight/Into Pungent.

The only problem is that I dont have one handers to tank with. Is it still viable to tank as frost with a 2 hander?;p

Viable, but not as good imo.

And definately not as cool looking.

2 Tanking Weapon is for more tanking stats and stamina.
2 DPS weapons is for more threat.

Frost can Tank with 2H perfectly fine. I was 2H tanking as Frost, then I got two Rimefang's Claws so I switched from my Inevitable Defeat. Now I have Burnished Quel'Serrar - Item - World of Warcraft to use with one of my Rimefang's Claws. I have had terrible luck with getting any new weapons since the patch other than those.

"Easiest" place to look for "top" weapons is the Heroic ICC Instances.

It's not so much the threat issue with such horribly low Expertise, it's getting parries on Death Strikes. This means you miss out on vital self-healing. Get more Expertise.
