Doesn't stack. Disc Healers can give a similar 3% dr buff. Doesn't stack either.
I just a quick question on whether or not Vigilance and Blessing Sanc stacked the 3% damage reduction on a paladin. I have this warrior OT who thinks is funny to Vigilance the MT (that would be me.)

Are you sure renewed hope doesn't stack? The folks in the disc priest threads at plusheal.com were saying it did.
Thanks. Next question: Glyph of Divine Plea and Blessing of Sanctuary, stack or no stack. Seems odd if it doesn't.
Nope, Reev, that was a bug. Fixed in 3.2 iirc. There's been some testing on maintankadin, where standing on lava with nothing was X, with sanc was 0,97X, with Hope was 0,97X and with both sanc and hope was still 0,97X.
Divine Plea glyph stacks with everything.
OK thanks Synapse. More misinformation averted.
Thank you guys so much. I will get my OT to Vigilance someone else.
The reason he put vigilance on you, might be to get some rage, i have done that trick some times
Huh? Vigilance doesn't affect rage. You sure you don't mean threat?
vigilance transfer damage, damage = rage, not much but in a tight spot it can help.
if any warrior use vigilance to pull threat of the MT, then in my opinion he's a noobcake
Vigilance does not transfer damage. It reduces the damage taken by the target it is on by 3%, and transfers 10% of threat to the tank casting it.
Sometimes if no BoSanc is available, 2 prot warriors will vigilance each other for the damage reduction. Since they both have vigilance on the other, the threat aspect cancels out.
I might be remembering wrong then, hardly ever use it myself. Who needs threat reduction anyway?
Warlocks?
I like to think of my guilds best warlock as my own little threat battery.
Well, it also depends on the fight. I dunno why the warrior finds it funny. Assuming it doesn't stack, I still like that free taunt if we're supposed to be sharing damage
It can be harmless to have Vigi from the OT on the MT. Provided you have more than enough threat to stay ahead of your raid, it helps your OT keep up on threat for back-up. Most fights that doesn't particularly matter, but it could be handy to some classes.
I know on my DK I have no issues generating threat when I'm not the main target, but my bear really struggles with rage starvation when I'm not taking swings/damage. My paladin and warrior are somewhere in between, no where near my bear, but not quite my DK either.
The (Old) Book on Death Knight Tanking
The New Testament on Death Knight Tanking

As a paladin tank, I have no issues generating threat. He may have been needing a bit of threat gen. for himself, and I out gear his tankset.
Just FYI, vigilance on another tank is often used because if your vigilance target is hit, it will refresh your taunt. In this situation, you can retaunt a "missed" taunt much sooner than the 6 second cooldown.
Deeps for show..... tank for dough.....
