Frost DK Tanking Hit Cap?
I know that the hit cap is around 17% for DW tanks. Its just something I playing around with right now. I am currently at 7.41% not including my racial (Draenei) and my Frost talents for an extra 4% total. In my DW tank spec on a trainer I did a total of 102 Melee swings, 24 missed. I haven't found much about the hit cap or its affects as a DK tank anywhere and was wondering if anyone could help me with it.
DW hit cap is actually ~27% (24% w/ 3/3 Nerves of Cold Steel). 17% is the spell hit cap.
I'd recommend just sticking w/ 2H Frost till you hit an average gear ivl of 232 or so. DW may look cool, but 2H Frost provides so much power and versatility so easily, it's just not worth the tradeoff.
You have to jump through so many hoops to get DW Frost tanking anywhere near 2H frost tanking, and any average gear ilvl much less than 232 just isn't going to have the stat points required to keep the 540 defense cap, the 26 expertise soft cap, and get anywhere near 24% hit.

the "hit cap" is not never missing with melee - just look at a hitcapped rogue's white hits in recount =p its about HB, PS, IT, OB, RS, FS, DS and all of your other abilities never missing. the hitcap is exactly the same as the 2H blood hitcap, with talents (because threat of thassarian means if your mainhand weapon hits the target, there is a 100% chance you wont miss with your offhand weapon - for this reason make sure if you have an expertise racial, you put the expertise weapon in your mainhand...)
though there is one little thing... you only need 6.5% chance to hit, + virulence (first tier of unholy, 3% chance to hit with spells) as well as nerves of cold steel to be hitcapped.
