    Edge of Ruin or Marrowstrike

Tank and part time Arms guy wondering which is better for arms now that I have both.

Marrowstrike - Item - World of Warcraft

Edge of Ruin - Item - World of Warcraft

I'm gonna hazard a guess and say Edge of Ruin. More ArP (assuming you don't gem for ArP), More Ap (scaleable as Str instead of static AP). Really Marrowstrike is for Hunters and Kitties. I would go for Marrowstrike if you want to gem for some stat you desperately need and can gem for.

Marrowstrike is about 3% more crit too.. which is why i am having a hard time changing it for Edge of Ruin

I can't imagine a case for marrowstrike being better for an arms warrior than edge of ruin is.

And Marrowstrike is like...maybe 1.5% more unless you gem it entirely for crit (which you shouldn't be). Edge of Ruin is 100 ap more...and wtf klor...you're an orc. So it's 5 expertise too! SWITCH!

Wowhead is mis-reporting the dps of edge of ruin...it's the same as the polearm.

Yeah, it's weird that it's been going on this long, but the real stats are...

    Edge of Ruin
    Soulbound
    Two-Hand Axe
    594 - 892 Damage Speed 3.50
    (212.3 damage per second)
    +121 Strength
    +97 Stamina
    Durability 120/120
    Requires Level 80
    Item Level 219
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 62 (+1.35%)
Equip: Improves armor penetration rating by 76 (+6.17%)
Stay strong. Stay smart. All heart.

5 stats versus 4 stats; it's no different from the leather vs plate problem that keeps creeping up in warrior dps. Between the agi and crit rating, you're quite likely to justify the lower AP.

If they're in fact the same base DPS, it's not an easy call.

IMO Marrowstrike looks dead sexy (but I need the hit from Stormedge).

OTOH Edge of Ruin gives you the flexibility to go Fury if you want to give it a spin (assuming you already have a nice 2 hander or can get one in the near future).

Usually agility items have haste on them, negating the fact that they have more stats. But Marrowstrike has all useful stats *and* a socket. I'd say go with that.

unless you're an orc, then having the racial makes me lean towards the EoR

Personally, I can see EoR being the better of the two for raid dpsing, although I have actually been trying to get Marrowstrike over the Edge of Ruin, simply because they're similar enough and I'm a fan of spears - there are only so many spears that are really at all viable for a warrior... it's a shame. I personally think Marrowstrike may be a tad better for PvP than EoR, though... If you have both, socket/enchant for two different things and swap out accordingly.
