Rank The Ulduar 10 Hard modes

from easiest to hardest - how would you rank them...

Our guild has done XT hard mode, what should we try next.

  2. i've been using this thread as reference...
    http://www.tankspot.com/forums/f214/...ard-modes.html

the latest podcast also addresses your question directly.

  3. if you can start Thoriums hard mode do his next its simple enough... so is Hodirs... then i would say IC

  4. Iron Council hardmode (I choose you Runemaster Molgeim) would be the next easiest one to do. All you need to do is kill adds that spawn out of a summoning portal, pretty much have a mage with improved blizzard and any ranged class that can aoe (warlock/hunter or another mage.) Also, it gives you the quest starting item so it makes doing the keeper hardmodes even more worth it (you start building the Algalon key.)

  5. Hard Modes after the nerfs (that they seem to be consistantly receiving) break down like this in my opinion.

XT-002, Iron Council (Steelbreaker), Thorim, Hodir, Flame Leviathon (4 towers), Freya, General Vezax, Yogg Saron(1 Keeper), Mimiron

    I have currently succeded in:

XT-002 (2 tries, after his ridiculous nerf)
Iron Council (5 attempts, couple of player errors. More like 3)
    Thorim (6 attempts)
Hodir (8 attempts, buff's didn't work in our favor a couple of times)
Flame Leviathon (30 attempts; he was nerfed in the middle of our attempts so more like 10)
Freya (6 attempts, but I think our group was ideal for this situation so depends on your raid breakdown.)

    Attempted:
Mimiron (This fight is incredibly healing intensive so you better bring the best. It is suggested to have priest/druid/shaman healer. But I am sure you can do it with any make up. Also this fight requires a lot of raid coordination.)

General seems more like a respec fight than anything else. Not that terrible. Yogg seems fairly difficult in my opinion but we haven't attempted this fight so I can't say much.

The only ones that will be remotely difficult for most raids are probably freya, vezax, yogg, mimiron, and maybe FL. My guild 1shot thorim, hodir (on accident), IC, XT (well 1 hour of close attempts with 2 healers, 1shot once we added a 3rd - this was BEFORE the nerfs). Freya and Vezax took under 5 attempts. Mimiron took 3 hours (post nerf) and Yogg 3 as well. You might end up being disappointed in how "hard" some of the 10man fights are. :/

    thats not hard mode.

Freya with 1 or 2 up is not hard mode

flame levi with 1 2 or 3 up is not hard mode.

yog with 3 or 2 helping is also not hard mode.

So true hard modes in order from easiest would be IMO

    xt
    hodir
    Steelbreaker last iron council
    thorim
    freya
    general
    yogg
    mimiron

Flame levi really depeds on how good your demo drivers are at keeping up a 10 stack but I would probaly put it tied with xt.

I guess FL also depends on things like if your guild has been killing it with any towers up in weeks past. Have you been slowly workin ur way up to 4 towers? Or are you going from straight ezmode into the hardest mode? It might be a bit more difficult if you only have experience with 0 tower or 1 tower. This is why I didnt mention it on my list (that and the fact that we did the 25man version first, heh).

    Ty very much!

  10. tbh FL+4 isn't that much gear dependant encounter, its kind of brain-check, and it's quite easy to see who's failing, and who's doing his job properly.

From my personal PoV, most problems while doing FL+4 are siege drivers and gunners: drivers, because then drive close enough to use ram and interrupting is delayed because of gcd, and gunners, because instead of focusing on freya adds and pyrite, they dps boss "cuz cannon hit 4 100k!!11one", its really simple as long as ppl aren't tunnel-visioned, i've made it with PUG, yes PUG and yes 4 towers on 10 man, and we had our kill immediately after i explained siege drivers and gunners what to do.

Ofc keeping pyrite stacks is vital for the encounter and only most trusted ppl should be put as drivers regardless of gear( naxx10 geared guy will do more dps if he'll keep 10 stacks all the time than full u25 hard mode geared guy that don't know how to do this.)
