vigilance

like all tanks, i have a number of tanking gears..for threat, hp, armor etc. but sometimes boss fights require me wear my hp gears and sacrifice my threat( expertise gears) ex hodir. so im using like 3 vigilance macros swapping targets between our 3 top threat members. like for the 1st 15 secs its on person a, hotkey it to person b then to c. Im not sure if people have done this before me or what but its working for me. Is it a waste of GCD toggling my vigilance macro? kindly help me on this.

I keep my vigilance on the top tps always which is generally a lock and I intervene the other dps when he is casting flash freeze.
