Sword spec, How bad is it?

Ok ill get to the point, i picked up rune edge last night, and i was using the jawbone until then. i know all>swords obviously if its equal item level, but i was wondering what would be better if i can pick up something else soon, like BOH, ironsoul, axe from hodir 10 and whatnot, at what point do lower item level weapons outperform higher item level swords.

I had the same question so I tested it some time ago. I ended up traiding my jawbone in for rune edge and I saw my dps increase by a lot. Normaly I look at what stats I need first but this sword is one nasty sword I think I would only drop it for vezzax 25 sword and polearm and the axe from 25 man ulduar (ignis right?).

Use the Warrior spreadsheet (see the Elitist Jerks forums for more information) to figure out the specific point at which a weapon upgrade is more of an upgrade.

Sword Spec is about a 2% DPS increase versus Poleaxe's iirc ~7% increase, so it needs to be a pretty huge boost to beat it.
