How does Vigilance work? (I'm not stupid..)
When you Vigilance somebody, does it transfer 10% of the threat they cause TO THEIR TARGET to you, or just 10% as a static number, and gives it to you to whatever you're targeting?
I'm tanking Boss, offtank is tanking add.
I Vigilance Offtank. Offtank is producing 4k TPS.
Do I gain 400 TPS on the Boss, or 400 TPS on the add?
My gut says Add but it's good to know.
10% of what they generate, where they generate it.
I've noticed it is whatever THEY are attacking. The threat is transferred to you

Thanks for the replies everybody.
Interesting. So you're saying that if you give it to someone i.e a DPS that is focussing on a different target to yourself, it does not give you threat towards your current target from the threat they are generating on their target?
Here's an example application to it.
You MT Kel'Thuzad. You vig your OT.
He generates a ton of threat on the adds, then dies to frost blast or something.
The adds go running straight to you and everyone is wow-ed by your ability to pick up the adds .
I'll leave the math for how much threat he'd have to do over the healers for you to be 2nd on the aggro list as an exercise to the reader .
One topic-related side question: On that 10% threat...does the Vigi'd person actually "lose" 10% of their threat since it's transferred to you? Like say I put it on the MT, that'd be bad because he's losing 10% threat on the boss and it being transferred to me, correct?
Or does he keep all of his threat and just 10% of w/e he generates is added to mine? I hope all that makes sense!
Big reason why I'm asking is I'd love to put Vigilance on the MT for the -3% part but that threat part scares me. Is it worth it?

Reason: Clarify questions
It's a threat siphon. You take 10% of theirs.
