    New Ret spec?

Anyone else just using 0/10/61 for raids? I have been and it is fairly effective, in fact I believe it is better then the previous spec I was using since now I spec all the way down the Ret tree aside from Deflection and even minus certain classes on Patchwerk I was able to hit 4.5k DPS which is a bit more then in the previous spec of 0/10/51 or whatever it was where a couple of talents I wish I could have used like Crusade over having to spec into BoK.

I am. At the moment, I can't seem to think of anything better to spec

Had Blizzard been smart and kept Divine Intellect in the first tier or at least put a useful 5 point talent in Holy to allow us access to the extra mana, I wouldn't have washed away points in Vindication or Eye for an Eye, however being able to spec into Crusade is really nice and has actually given me some added damage.

Yeah. Would have been nice to see some of the usefull bits of the holy tree available to us. Oh well, at least it makes my dualspec easier, since the raiding pve spec is the same as the pvp spec. lol.

To be honest I used the same spec your talking about recently and it unless I was bugged (week after patch) I decided to take my decently geared ret tree out of my duel spec and stay holy and prot.

Before patch I was able to maintain well over 3k dps on single target dps and if there were more than one mob it would go through the roof. In a Naxx 10 we did the other day playing the the changes I dropped almost a good 1k dps all around and held a 2.5k dps at the end average. On trash pulls I was doing almost 10k dps before patch, on same pulls doing about 5k now. Not sure what your doing different but most of the well geared and skilled pallys I talk with are not happy with the changes and have noticed dps drops.

I've noticed a very nice increase in my dps actually, now granted I've gotten a few pieces of gear, but the 3.1 changes are ok so far in my book.

Yea I am running about 5000 ap and 40% crit in ret gear while being hit/exp capped, we are talking a bit different. If your current armory shows your gear you are under hit by almost 115 so yes a few pieces of gear will start making a difference.

    Spec

    The World of Warcraft Armory
I use that when I'm actually on my pally, might lack a bit of dps but I can bubble and divine sac to help the raid out. Something worth mentioning, and I'm not sure if it was a glitch mind you, but when I was 10/61 I had eye for an eye crit for 40k on Deconstructor when he enraged and punched me in the face.

AoE damage =/= single target damage for ideal DPS. I have seen mages actually hit 13k+ DPS on AoE trash pulls, but their single target DPS caps out at 6 or 7k. I have done double DPS on trash, but you can easily do over 5k DPS on trash and still only hit 2k on a boss and it's because of the AoE abilities in the rotation. Consecrate and Divine Storm are AoE abilities, they hit multiple targets, thus your DPS goes up because of it. Also, raid buffs can change your DPS output drastically. I have gone from 5k on Patchwerk 25 to 2.5k on him in 10 man because of lack of raid buffs and balance.
