Edit: Originally posted this when the trash was linked the first day patch 3.1 went live.
Trash is currently back in the game now after being removed that first week. There are 2 packs and they do not link.

Real men kill that trash.
I have a screenshot of us after we killed that trash, was the most epic kill we did all day.
Try splitting your groups into 2 DPS groups and another group (tanking group) in front of the boss. Pretend he's Kel so everyone make sure they are at least 10yards apart. DPS boss 1st phase. If you got tons of pally (we have at least two prots, 1 ret and 2 or 3 holy) and they have Divine Sacrifice, it makes this fight easy as cake healing through tantrum.
Second phase, everyone stays in there perspective groups and not move. DPSing the heart until the Scrapbots gets close enough to DPS. We only kill Bombbot when they are in the groups with the scrapbots. Otherwise, we just let the bombbots run tot he boss and fall over (making sure no one pops them if not being used). OTs just runs around, grabs plummeters and pull them back to the left and right of the boss perspectively and just keeps them tanked until the end of the fight usually. Sometimes we might have to kill em. Pop Hero on the 25% heart drop and he should come out of it at around 5 to 10% (sometimes we got him out by 15%) and DPS him to until he's dead... dead... dead.

There previously WAS trash before engaging this boss. It was linked (and wasn't suppose to be) making it EXTREMELY difficult to clear without wiping (wiping would reset the trash). It basically forcing you to pull 2 groups at once. Because it wasn't suppose to be linked Blizzard removed the trash in a hot fix. It will be back soon (and not linked as is intended) but who knows when.
So, depending on what day you did XT you may not have experienced any trash at all which is probably what's leading to the confusion here.
Personally we couldn't get in Ulduar for more than an hour or so on Tuesday or Wednesday so we never got to see this trash, I only happen to know about it because I saw mention of the trash removal and bug description on a different site.
Trash is back in game. I don't actually remember the names of any of the mobs but...we root the guys that leap, kill the ones that make the saw blades first, the gnomes that do the defense matrix we just leave them alone and kite things out of the bubbles, the other gnome bots move slow and can be kited around. Don't recall what the other mob did.

This trash is now back in the game. Anyone know how to down any of these or is this a CC trash pull??
we just killed it, everything can b stunned, the little guys can b trapped.
we just kited the whole lot to the entrance and peeled mobs off to kill
just tried it but the trash right before him is not linked to him
will it pull on his enrage or when the lil adds come?
If you kite them all back to the teleporter, the gnomes will not join their pals in time (they're slow). Watch for sawblades and after the robots are down, smash the gnomes.
Due to the sheer volume of trash in the pull it requires a lot of CC.
The way we did it in 25 was the following:
Raid stands out of LOS behind the big doors.
Root x 3
Ice Traps x 3
DPS whatever gets to the raid first and mark targets on the fly. It was a lot of improv on our parts but as long as you have that many mobs CCd it becomes pretty trivial. We lost about half the raid on the first trash pack and only 2 people on the next one.
Thankfully you can really trivialize the trash on the way to kolo since so much of it is humanoid. Its the mechanical stuff that really puts a thorn in your side (read: Mimiron trash ... /wrists)

Ya, having been only the 2nd time we were in there we did not have the pleasure of that trash until last night and took it on the chin quite a few times before getting past them. Did notice kills of all the same type of bot would prevent their respawn even if you did wipe on them.
so whats the deal with the technicians? will they just stand there and cast defense bubbles if they are not hit? We did decon today and some technicians would just stand there and some would aggro, i couldn't find a common pattern...
Also those 30k kicks are not cool, especially when you receive two in a row...
Chris
Actually the trash is pretty hard but doable like this :
Marks all technicians since that defensive bubble is not only a def bubble but also a repair bubble and buff bubble.
So the Main thing to do is separate the Technicians from the Bots. We did it last night By having a couple of druid rooting the technicians untill we killed all the bots.
Let a mage/hunter combo kite everything away except the compactbots ( those sawblades ) and DPS them down as fast as you can ) Then take the other bots. And when all bots are down peel the technicians free and kill them one by one.
But the far most important thing is to keep those technicians cc-ed since they will heal and buff the bots , that's the reason why when you kill the 3 bots and leave one alive from the same kind it respawns ( since the technicians can rebuild them ).
Hope it helps everyone with this trash.

Yes, our guild had quite a time with this trash a couple of nights back. As others have posted our best strategy was to cc / kite all of the technicians until all of the bots were dead. After each tank finished up on its bot they would go and pick up a technician to relieve the ccer/kiter.
It was certainly strange to have to cc in a raid again. Lol
Get used to it, gotta CC right after XT and before Freya
Round em up, rotate shockwaves, crank up the AoE. Move them out from under the shields.
