You'll be stacking more Str/Parry/Dodge/Stam to make up for lack of block.
Hi.
Im having a bit problem to solve a question i have.
A warrior have as we all know (Block.) And the block includes when you figure out total avoidance.
But a DK don't have Block.
So i was wondering if DK have something that we can compare or replace block with?
Or do we just need to get insane much parry and doge to get the same amount avoidance.?
Thanks for helping me out to understand the issue i have.
You'll be stacking more Str/Parry/Dodge/Stam to make up for lack of block.
Block is not calculated as part of avoidance. A block is not avoiding a hit, a block is mitigation of damage.
This is where the "Warriors are mitigation tanks, DKs are avoidance tanks" comes from... the theory being that as DKs only form of mitigation is their armor, it's better for them to avoid hits, while warriors have a shield and block so they can take more hits.
As has been demonstrated, the balance around these mechanics is slightly flawed at the moment.
I'd be very cautious about these kinds of threads folks.
They tend to get out of constructive discussion and become flaming wars.
I'm just putting that out right now so please be very careful with how you word your topics.![]()

This is what's currently wrong with Block for Warriors in WotLK because of the shield block skill change. At least in TBC you could spam shield block for pretty much sure fire crushing blow protection and block mitigation. Block as mitigation with a % chance of happening needs to be fixed to be more consistent.
