Death Knight Tanking...

Hey guys I've read a few threads around the site but I still havnt found the answers Im looking for.

I have a lvl 80 death knight tank and seem to be having problems with tanking.

The World of Warcraft Armory

Now I know I have a few kit problems but for the kit I do have I seen to be taking WAY to much damage. (dont forget that char is in blood presence and not frost so it will have less health and amour than it norrmally does)

Any ideas ? also would I be better with x2 weapons or a 2h. I have tryed both allready.

Also I have tryed frost spec but unholy seems to be better to keep agro.

Only thing I can think of is my parry and dodge is a bit low =/

So just some things you can easily improve:

Helm - Arcanum of the Stalwart Protector - Item - World of Warcraft
Shoulders - Lesser Inscription of the Pinnacle - Item - World of Warcraft
Bracers - 40 stam or 15 exp
Gloves - Up to you but I like 18 stam or 20 hit.
Boots - 22 Stam

Sigil - Sigil of Arthritic Binding - Item - World of Warcraft

Gems - General rule is never gem for parry, the points are better in dodge.

Is my parry and dodge still a bit low then ?

And strength gems Im no good with any of them either ? just +Dodge +stam and +defence ?

And what does rit rating do for me / ?

I don't think your dodge and parry are too low per se but your defense is too high. The cap is 540 so trade some of that out and stack more stam/str/hit/exp.

Hit rating basically reduces the chance that your attack will miss (both melee and spell (or in our case diseases and such).

Ok well I have got some better kit now =D just still seem to be taking hits a little to much, and will str help keep agro ?

Are you certain you get less aggro with frost? I've noticed your DW tanking, and while I support DW tanking, I think it's a given any DW tank has to be frost for howling Blast/killing machine aggro.
I believe if you enchanted your basic chest/boots/shoulders with 18+ stamina kits you should hit 25k more hp, unbuffed (no frost presence)

The biggest thing with Dks is cd management with super short cds we can use them to max mitigation. I am blood personally but out of a 2 min cycle there is about 10 seconds where I dont have some sort of cd up, and even then I have lich if there is a problem. As the above poster said your def is much too high while your dodge and parry are too low. Drop some def gear in favour of some more dodge/parry.

And yea I have changed alot of gear since first post =D

Defense only 540 now.

New tier 7 chest with more dodge/parry =)
