Thread: Dwarf + mace racial = delima

  1. Dwarf + mace racial = delima

So looking at loot rank, it seems that there isn't really many one maces other than Hammer of Quiet Mourning.

    That is fast.

I am thinking to use the TitanSteel Bonecrusher but it is a slow weapon which I don't mind using but I will suffer in HS damage.

I just feel I shouldn't be cornered into using a Sword / AXE and lose my amazing racial of 5 expertise skill = 1.25% less parry and dodge.

hopefully there will be more items that are mace related.

Does anyone tank with the Bone crusher? how do you like it?

  2. I use it and am pretty happy with the performance I'm getting from it. If you're going to use it, I would strongly consider speccing into deep wounds to take advantage of the slow speed.

  3. Yup I respeced to Deep wounds and it is insane how good it is. with Damage shield, TC, and Shock wave all criting like crazy I get some nice ticks.

  4. I used Split Greathammer - Item - World of Warcraft as my tank weapon for a while.

It's just a matter of if you can sacrifice the tank stats, for the threat stats this has.

  5. I used Maexxna's Femur for quite a while until I got a real epic tanking weapon.

But you think you've got it bad? Try playing an orc. There's only one purple 1h axe at level 80, and it drops from one of the last bosses in the current 25-man progression. Basically, if you want a tank weapon and you don't play a sword-loving race, get used to doing without that extra 5 expertise.

    Real tanks do 2000 DPS.

I'm very tempted to get that as a threat weapon, pretty sure it would beat last laugh my regular tanking weapon.

  7. I went from Hammer of Quiet Mourning - Item - World of Warcraft to Titansteel Bonecrusher - Item - World of Warcraft to Split Greathammer - Item - World of Warcraft. I'll likely replace the Split Greathammer with Last Laugh if it ever drops for us, but I view the Greathammer as better than any of the other tanking weapons for a dwarf.

    * Humans get 3 expertise for swords, no-one gets 5 Sword
-- Only Dwarves and Orcs have a 5 expertise weapon option (now)
    * Generally all tank trees have talents and glyphs to lump the expertise on
    * Expertise itself usually isn't the highest need nor (the Rating) hard to accrue

Frankly [and I've suggested it before] if I was a Blizzard I'd either go:

    * Humans Sword, Mace +3 Expertise
    * Dwarves Mace, Axe +3 Expertise
    * Orcs Axe, Sword +3 Expertise

Expand variety without feeling too bad when you can't match up.
Even there though you might have the Dwarf feeling dissed, etc so otherwise:

    * Expertise bonuses were bad, move on to something else

Frankly as a BE Pally I think this gets a bit too much QQ, we're missing a racial and sword would have seemed a bit obvious, IMO.
