Well I guess it'll work for the regular too. I'm just wondering how this achievment works... I know the spores go to the center... But dot he consentrate on the boss or what? Because the melee will kill the spores with AOE. Just wondering if your able to pull him to the gate and not have to worry about the spores.

The spores target a player and will follow him, so the individual spores can be kited. But again, they despawn and that counts as a death. I think the only way to get the achievement is to burn him down before a spore despawns, but that's quite a bit of damage.
Yeahh.. he's got 20,200,000 hp. If you say the first spore spawns about 10 seconds in, and despawns 90 seconds afterward, that means you need 202k raid DPS to kill him in time. Even if you somehow manage to fit 20 DPS in the raid (counting the tank, so 5 healers), that's a little over 10k minimum DPS from everyone. Without the spore buff.
I've heard of rumors of people getting the achievement, just have not seen it myself.

My idea of how to kite them would be a druid tapping them with Fairie Fire. This does no damage at all and makes it move towards them.
I play a druid and this is what I do to get the spores to move towards the main DPS group when they come up.
Faerie fire does damage now, well feral does
Yea, Feral one does, but not the regular one. They made the Feral one do some damage to help the tanking druids be able to keep the target better without it running off somewhere else on the very next attack.
yeah my guild and i had a play with this achievement, knowing its bugged and all. just seeing what would happen leaving them up.
we found that every little buff that reflects damage can easily kill them, regardless of how insignificant they are.
in the raid we had a destro lock with an imp out, the imp automatically gives an attacked person the fire shield buff - and this alone was killing off spores that we let jump around in the raid.
also my damage shield was killing them without doing a thing. so for it to be completed a great deal of care has to be taken so any prot war doesnt get agro of them (or respec for the encounter) and all reflective damage buffs are turned off.
Yes my guild tried this before we knew it was bugged. Its possible to beat it without any spore buffs even with the rediculous amount of health he has, it just requires all the raid healers getting the entire raid to full every single break and also contributing something to dps. spore being bugged sucks though.

It appears that this is fixed now and the spores no longer despawn, so the achievement is very dooable using methods such as what has been recommended here. In 10 man you dont even really have to kite them, they do low enough damage they can just beat on the healers while everyone just burns Lothoeb.
Just as a note, stress to your Deathknights to not use Army of the Dead here. Your DKs will swear up and down that the ghouls attack whatever the DK is attacking, but we lost this achievement the first time because ghouls went and killed spores (confirmed in Recount) that were passing by Loatheb. Probably a bug, but there you go.

This one is pretty straight forward now, just seems to take a longer long time to kill him/it. We just had someone taunt any spores that were coming after me as MT to avoid them hitting my damage shield. I took TC And SW off of my bar just to be safe.![]()
I just made a shield-dual wield macro that I popped whenever a spore was passing by
