Most of these gear choices are based on Rawr calculations. ( I am not sure where your pieces fall but from what i can tell a lot of them wont be preferable until the armor change at which time this list will have to be reworked. @Darksend)

I purposely left out profession specific items for JC or Engy.

The Epic leather pvp gear is best in slot for Mitigation/Survival should you wish to go that route:

working on the 10/25 man gear list is should be up by the end of week, removing all my clutter because manbears list agrees with most of my conclusions

and as he said almost non of my items work till after the armor change

Well give me a non cloak example. Many lvl 70 cloaks are "better" because of armor than the ones at 80.
I'm not including pvp gear either. It is generally better.

i am really just curious what method you use because i have no math to support anything and so much of it is sliding scale if i have 50 hit rating and you have 300 then obviously ur BIS and mine are way different for example the argent crusade exalted epic boots are my best in slot because of the 66 hit rating i can afford to take the stam hit because i have 2x stam trinkets

i am currently gearing for the patch and totally not even trying to get the 550 armor trinket, if it drops ill use it but i am not actively pursuing it

I use rawr for much of my calculations. Because of this, my BIS items are focused almost exclusively on Mitigation/Survival. Threat is a small factor in the calculations but like any gear list, you have to set your own opportunity costs for the fight.

If your EH is fine and you aren't in danger of getting 3 shot, then it might be ok to drop 40 stam from your boots for 56 hit and 9 agi.
But maybe not.

With what I've read, it's looking like Blizz is looking to try to make all of the tanking classes comparable, but in doing so are hurting the fuzzy tanks.

One slot is missing, tho - Idols.

As far as I know, there are only two options for a feral tank in WotLK so far:

Idol of Perspicacious Attacks - 30 venture Coins - only lvl 74.

Savage Gladiator's Idol of Resolve - Honor points - lvl. 80

Neither are fantastic IMO (I might be wrong off course).

Just looking at it (And I have not done the math, to back up my statement), isn't Idol of Terror (20 badges of Justice - lvl. 70) one of the best options avaliable.

Aye, you are correct Tavia. Unfortunately there are no Tanking idols in WotLK right now.

I use Idol of Perspicacious Attacks because i like to see bit Maul crits but for what its worth, Idol of Terror is still better for Mitigation if only slightly

I would like something useful. Maybe a defensive bonus like:

Idol of Tanking
"While Lacerate is applied to target you gain X% dodge to attacks from that target".

What weapon enchant do you recommend...i heard that stuff like mongoose procs for druids now but I've always just stuck with +35agi

35 AGI is unfortunately still the best Tanking enchant. Static dodge is better than the random proc of mongoose while tanking and now AP scales far better than AGI for dps as well.

Massacre (110 AP) is what i will be using until something better comes along.

Lifeward might be something to look into but not till i can get some solid parses on the proc rates.
