i got my Stinker about a week ago

I'm up to 39 pets without any trading cards or collectors edition like pets. I'm pretty sure I can break 50 if I pushed it.

Yes, you have to get mob-drop pets and cross-faction pets

I'm currently sitting at 45, knowing I've deleted/vendore 2 childrens weeks pets, the clockwork robot and the lifelike mechanical toad back in the day (if not more), so it's deffo obtainable without trade card of collectable editions.. I've got none of those, just all vendor and rep ones, and a few quest ones.. come wrath it'll be dead easy

Remember that talking to a Stable Master can restore lost pets now. Not sure if there's a limitation to what pets they will or will not return, but I got my Smolderweb Hatchling back after deleting it like 3 years ago when I first "quit" WoW.

This was the first thing I did when the patch went live; finish this Achievement up while fixing my UI.

only got my mininwing from the terokkar quest back.. it will not reimburse pets you can still gain in the future (so guess I'll have my robot at christmas and children's week pets in may), unless they change that when it goes live so I can get them back :P

i got into the 40's without any alliance pets. before the patch dropped i had picked up the oozeling and the whelps off the AH. if you watch it regularly you can snag them at a good price. once the new storage system was live i ran to all the vendors and bought what i could, which put me into the 40's as i said. then a guildy with an alliance alt bought up the alliance pets and we traded via the winterspring AH.

the oozeling and the 4 whelps are the only "rare" pets i have that i can think of.

I have 51 pets (52 when i get the vampiric bat from Kara), and i got no collector edition and 0 live-event pets.
I got about 15 rare pets (3 whelps, firefly, phoenix things like those), a few event pets (3 of the children's week, clockwork robot, santa gnum, i blame myself for having slacked last year), some craftables (engineering mainly), all available quest pets, and i had the big luck of knowing some alliance player on my server, so i traded with him horde-only pets with alliance-only pets. I even got westfall chicken
