The way I did it was use MaxDPS.com - World of Warcraft Gear Rankings - News and apply a filter. The way we listed it is a bit different, I started with the level required to obtain the item, as that is usually the first thing I look at when scanning a list of possible leveling upgrades. Then when my eye catches that magic number/level I check out the item itself. Different but the same Also the list I made assumes one has the ZA and Badge gear already, so that is why some of the shields are not in there or other peices I think.

My intention is to make it the easy-to-get guide for L80 entry-level raiding, not the "which gear to pick up along the way to L80 guide". To be honest, people are likely to burn from 71 to 80 pretty quickly so I don't not want to over-complicate the list too much with lower level items that are easily replaced at level 79 or 80. Those that want such lists can easily get the info from sites like lootrank.com or maxdps. (BTW I am the author of the lootrank.com site)

Leave it with me - I will consider whether it is worth changing my guide into something else. In the meantime, don't throw your good work away!

Has the way you earn rep changed in WotLK? I thought I read somewhere you only earn rep at 80 by running instances while championing a particular tabert? I am trying to figure out how best to get Revered as quick as possible for tank loot.
