    Lvl70 Heroic Strike Raiding Build

    Hi there,
I tried Deep Furor with Titans Grip first, but came to the conclusion, that I would need to drop Black Temple Gear for T4/5 Stuff or regem most of the sockets in order to reach the new soft hit cap. I therefore decided to skill something else. At first I was thinking about Deep Furor without TG or something similiar to the old 17/44 Build. But I was always fond of very fast Weapons and wanted to try something with that. Please have a look and valuation.

This is the Build I wanted to try: 12/41/8

    Declaration of Talent Selection:
    • Arms Tree:
      • Improved Heroic Strike reduces the rage cost from 15 to 12 points and using Glyph of Heroic Strike will reduce the cost to 2 points when I hit critical.
      • Impale increases the critical strike damage by 20%
      • There weren't anough points left for Deep Wounds plus using fast weapons wont let it tick for that long. The other Talents just seem best suited to reach the first 2 mentioned.
    • Protection Tree:
      • Incite gives +15% critical strike chance to Heroic Strike which sums up to around 56% critical Heroic Strike chances raidbuffed.
      • The other Talents just seem best suited to reach Incite.
    • Fury Tree:
      • Booming Voice was taken because of me beeing the one who buffs the Raid with Battle Shout using Solarian's Sapphire and Glyph of Battle. The Bonus AP makes it superior to the other AP Buffs an the duration of almost 5 minutes lets it last through the most Boss fights.
      • Improved Execute was taken because of 2er T6 Bonus plus Glyph of Execution. This Bonus lets me spam Execute every 7 Rage Points with an extra Damage of 210 Points. 7 Points is pretty instant when using fast Weapons.
      • Rampage was taken because its always on with the fast weapons and the high crit chance. At the moment Fury and Arms changed the roles of DD and Support in my opinion. The Improved Feral Buff is still better ;(
      • With only 41 Points left for the Fury Tree I could only spent 1 Point in Precision but my Gear has enough Hitrating to get to 9% soft cap. I also didn't spend any Points into Abilities which Improve Bloodthirst or Whirlwind. Whirlwind is bad with 2 fast Weapons and Bloodthirst is still nice but as I said no Points left ;(

    Gear Information:
The Armory seems to be still not functioning therefore I'll try to give a brief overview of my gear. I just recently changed guild cause the old on got dissolved. The old Guild was progressing through the Black Temple with a first kill on RoS. My Gear could be described as the best to get until including Supremus (and Akama if you pick him afterwards). The new Guild is progressing in Sunwell with a first kill on Brutallus. I received a few other things from the weekly BT Raids.
I pretty much use the same Gear I used before the patch and just changed my weapons and am wearing now 2x Swiftsteel Bludgeon

    The stats are:
    • AP: 2.2k
    • ArP: 21%
    • Hit: 180
    • Crit: 33,5%
    • Weapon Speed: 1,45
    • Expertise: 11

    Application:
I use Heroic Strike as often as I can. After the Rage Motor warmed up I begin to use Bloodthirst on every Cooldown but still my priority goes to Heroic Strike. As soon as the Boss reaches Execute Range I start to spam Execute. With the reduced CD of Deathwish I try to use one on Start and the other on Execute Range.

    Pros:
Flurry and Rampage is up 100% of the time due to the high crit rate of Heroic Strike. The weaponspeed is down to almost one hit per second. This doesn't give white misses a big rage starvation and lets me pump out a lot oh Heroic Strikes in a very short amount of time. 2 Rage for 1 Heroic Strike is a very good Ragecost per Damagepoint conversion. Single Target Damage is very nice. On a few bosses I already tried with this build around 55% of the Damage came from Heroic Strike which critted in 65% of the time with an average Damage of 1800-1900 points. I did not execute in that time! My DPS was around 2k +-200.

    Cons:
I'm very happy that Tanks build up that much aggro now. Because this Build is one Aggromonger! 2k TPS was normal! Might want to get subtelty back on my cape. Another issue is the loss of AoE ability... WW is a joke with this build and the weapons. Not an issue with bosses but a bit saddening on the overall damage meter

    Conclusion:
I really like what I see with this experiment and look forward trying it in Sunwell this Sunday. Maby I can get a wws log and some Recount Screens together. The only thing I really dislike is beeing reduced to a one button class...
I beliefe that I cant reach the Damage Output of other Classes, but it will be OK until I have the Gear for Titans Grip. I can be a pretty good supporter with the better AP Buff and the Critbuff.
I want to do some Targetdummy Tests in order to find out if AP > Crit. AP benefits all Hits, but more Heroic Strike Crits give even better rage conversion. I dont believe Haste will be so good because of the weapons beeing already pretty fast without the haste buffs. I believe ArP will be better than before on Bosses cause of the percentage..

So what do you think about this?

Fast weapons won't let it tick that long? How do you figure? If anything, fast weapons will make it tick less frequently, but fast weapons will keep the buff refreshed more (and then when it does tick, it will tick for a lot).

Sorry, I haven't had time to read through everything; i'm out the door, but saw that and wanted to comment. More to come later.

Correct me if I'm wrong but fast weapons are bad with this talent because they override the bleed effect before it runs out. This takes away alot of potential damage.

The Talent with Rank3 gives a Dot which will damage the affected person with 48% of the weapon damage spread out over 6 seconds. This will be 8% weapon damage per second.

The Swiftsteel Bludgeon has 105-196 damage which are about 150 damage in the middle.

With Winfuror and Flurry the weaponspeed reaches almost 1 hit per second. Because of dualwhielding it is 2 hits per second.

I spam Heroic Strike with 60% critchance as often as i can and have over 40% chritchance with white damage.

Lets say I land a Crit every 2-3 seconds. This makes the dot tick only over 2-3 seconds adding 24-36 damage to the critical strike damage of a heroic strike wich lands for around 2k damage.

Thats not very much extra damage for 3 more Points spend which I cant free anywhere else at lvl 70.

  4. Since patch 3, deep wounds stacks such that each application will tick for full duration rather than be overwritten.

Yes, deep wounds is now rolling. Each crit will deal 48% of weapon damage, regardless of how long it's been since your last crit. The previous damage just "rolls" in to the new debuff.

For specs with Deep Wounds, you are seeing Deep Wounds tick as high as 2k, and contributing 15-25% of their overall damage.
