They state it's not doing as much threat as sunder armor in a bug listing.

"Warrior Defiance talent is not granting Expertise"
"Warrior devastate is not doing as much threat as Sunder armor despite patch notes"

Does this mean they want devestate to deal the 301 base threat in total? 301 + damage?
    Curse my picking sentences apart!
Oh well, there's only 1/4 chance he means they're not going to increase it

well we'll still have to wait and see what they do, they might increase it a bit, they might not increase it and change the patch notes, or they might make it 301+ damage O_o. But either way, and you beat me to it! lol, at least I know our work isn't in vain!!

It's not a bug listing. It's a list of reported issues. There's a big difference.

I've found something interesting on the official Test Realm Forum

    http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...66681434&sid=1

It's seems like devastate costs more rage than it should. If you took Focused Rage und Imp. SA it should cost 9 rage, but it was observed that if your rage bar show >= 18 rage it costs 18 rage, if it shows < 18 rage it costs only 9 rage.

So maybe Blizz implemented devastate such as that if you hit devastate, a devastate and sunder armor will be cast and it will cost you the rage of devastate + sunder armor (9+9=18). If you got less that 18 rage than sunder will fail and only the devastate will be cast and also only the devastate threat will be produced.

This is maybe an explanation for some discrepancies in Kazeyonoma's test results.

sunder application always occured, whether i had 9 or 18 rage, so that wasn't it, lol, i think itsjust a bug about the rage consumption, the threat however, may or maynot be a bug, it may be how they want to implement it, that's why they have QA checking it.

Devastate is changed on the latest build of PTR. Rage bug is fixed. Current PTR devastate threat is around 400 innate threat + dmg.

    Can this be verified?

400 innate is not a LOT?
I mean, after the 5 sunders are in place, and with HE gear this would mean increasing like 600 threat per cycle (Rev, SS, Dev, Dev)

In summary, TBC raiding is easy. 9/10 encounters can be summarized with 1 phrase. Stay out of the fucking fire.

400 innate threat + damage? With a KD thats almost 600 threat per swing? Thats like almost a 400 tps buff? Omg would that be nice but I dont see it happening. I had to have messed up that math.

Testing on the PTR now. Around 400 doesn't sound wrong so far.

Still testing. Detoured to write an addon to capture the data for me.

Initial glance looks like you get the 301 for the sunder and more than 101 for the devastate.

Edit: Your combat log says this:
Your Devastate hits Servant of Razelikh for 44
Servant of Razelikh is afflicted by Sunder Armour

I would guess that Devastate simply invokes Sunder Armour when you use it, hence you gain the Sunder threat as well as the Devastate.

More testing to do to be sure.

You have been manipulated over time to believe that if your class isn't challenging to play it's overpowered. Tanking has been the hardest role since TBC came out because they failed to scale our threat correctly.

God knows how many of our ranks have given up and left while blizzard took their time figuring out this fix.

This is a nice buff to us but it is not a complete fix. DPS threat will continue to increase with gear as our rage generation deteriorates with gear. This is a problem we've had since the beginning of time and one that will not be fixed soon, if ever.

They are making tanking about as challenging as any other role. Accept it. It's about fucking time.

Amili on the PTR. I have my roommate dutifully beating on mobs with his mage for no threat modifiers.

Cakemix seems to have gotten bored and wandered off.
