    Addons / UI

Are there some Tanking-Specific or warrior Specific Addons/UI that you guys would suggest?

    Also, hey! I'm new :-)

    Hi! Yes.

Here's a quick list from the sticky on WoW US forums:
    0.8.1 Protection Mods
    Tankpoints
Tankpoints is as good as it gets in terms of itemizing gear. I do not suggest using the values listed to compare to other users, but it certainly will help you in determining damage reduction and what is the most effective combination of gear against the creatures you are fighting. Get it here:

    Threat 1-0
A newer Threat Meter which is considerably more flexible and functional than KTM Threatmeter. You will need to be sure to get continuous updates to this. Learn more (and download) here:

    Stand-alone mod:

    Combat Monitor, SWStats, and WWS
Cream of the crop. Picking up each of these three mods and working them in conjunction with the raid will give you the best idea of your overall performance. Combat Monitor (not sure if this has been updated yet) is Satrina's mod, very useful for checking how you did after combat; SWStats is a complex DPS meter for your raid; Warcraft Web Stats (WWS) is a combat log parser that lays out detailed reports of your raid into HTML files.

    Combat Monitor:

    SWStats:

    WWS:

Will update more as I get some other parts of this website finished.

Tank buddy is nice. I have it spit the taunt resist message to my warrior channel. (don't remember where you get it offhand)

I also like Roguespam. It will remove message spam like "not enough rage" when you're spamming attacks etc..

I am a fan of TankAlert for heroics, since a little extra situational awareness is always nice in those places. I disable it in raids however

Excellent site Ciderhelm. I am very happy to see you continue your work in the warrior community.

The warrior addon that I couldn't live without is MTLove.

Basically when you mouse over a mob, a box will float near your cursor, indicating who that mob is currently targetting.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned a gear set management addon yet. Any addon in this category makes life a lot easier for tanks in particular who are switching between their various gear sets.

Probably the most popular one is Item Rack (v2.1 just came out): http://www.wowinterface.com/download...emRack2.1.html
I used it for a very long time and it really is a great addon, probably the best one out there. The only major problem with it was that 2.1 was the first update in several months. Hopefully the author is back on track, but it is somewhat of a concern to the longevity and development standpoints of the addon. The addon doesn't really need a terrible amount of new features at all, but if it is buggy when a new patch comes out, that could be a problem if its not updated.

Some people prefer Outfitter which I personally hate but if you want to give it a shot: http://wow-en.curse-gaming.com/downloads/details/7446/

I'm currently using Closet Gnome which is an Ace2 addon (which you can find on http://files.wowace.com/). Its not quite as feature rich as item rack is, but it does what it needs to. The major reason I use it is because I recently redid my entire interface to convert to Ace2 addons. The Ace updater is seriously just the hands down best way to update addons, 2 clicks instead of roaming around various websites for addon updates. I actually have grown used to my new set of addons and I like the whole feel of it better with the use of things like deuce commander to eliminate the need to use all sorts of slash commands (some addons do get absurd with drop down menus though), but it really comes down to preference.

Apologies for possibly getting a little off track there but short answer: Itemrack or ClosetGnome if you want Ace2.

Oh and Cider, just a head's up. Threat 1.0 is actually a library of threat values for other addons to use, not an actual threat meter addon itself. The main addon that displays data from Threat 1.0 is Omen (http://www.wowace.com/wiki/Omen), which I believe is made by the same guy who is the lead on Threat 1.0. On the wiki though, it states that threat 1.0 can be downloaded standalone if you only want to send data to your group mates and not see the actual data.

Ciderhelm whats your take on tank points i noticed you quoted it among others at the top. After seeing its TP values for KD and suneater I was even more turned off on it than ever personally.(point value was 600 higher for suneater than KD... wtf)

I can't say anything bad about Tank Points. Partly because the author was one of two people who really inspired me as a Warrior.

Hiya I'm wondering if anyone is aware of an addon that will inform you when you're waiting on a heroic strike? (ie you have it queued and it'll be on your next attack) I find that I can't always tell and think this would be really useful. If you guys think maybe it *wouldn't* be useful, maybe you can help me figure out what I'm missing? Thanks in advance
