Well, because of talents (assuming toughness and shield mastery), it turns out to be a difference of 492 armor & 19 Block value (more shield slam damage & thus more threat).
Based around the theory of effective health posted in Cider's guides (I didn't actually do the math, just assuming based on looking at the stats) the difference in armor should give the Shield Wall the edge. Defense past 490 is just minimal avoidance gains. I really like the hit on the Aldori shield though just because its so rare in tank gear, but for 1875 arena points, the shield wall may become a pretty popular shield.
Again, I'm purely assuming that the shield wall has a edge, I'm not the greatest with math :P
I know it is vastly superior to those just curious as to how much if at all better than the Aldori legacy defender. Looks to be better just not sure if the +hit can really be quantified in regards to this comparison. Will probably require 2 seperate calcs 1 for added threat and other for sheer mitigation, not sure though.
Right now my curiousity is mainly just that. I wont have access to the defender for a while and therefore am grabbing the shield wall in 2 weeks.
Did you have anything other than sha'tar/coldarra in mind that might be more helpful to you?
Well, prior to using the Shield Wall, I had the Shield of Impenetrable Darkness, although just looking between the two I already know that there is big difference between them. I already know that the shield wall will have more effective health than the Aldori Legacy Defender just by looking at them, its just a matter of how much more. It seems like it to comes down to more effective health on the Shield Wall vs the hit rating on the Aldori Legacy Defender.
