I'm bumping this for 4.2 because I decide to keep doing pvprot even though it's extremely nerfed. I also had my account closed for a while til recently.

get resilience gear... you'll probably want to go aff for pvp... apparently they're getting buffed in 4.2 but aren't very good right now.

i used to destroy prot pvp... been out of the game since before cataclysm and getting back into it in a couple days... interesting to see how i'm going to do it without imp. spell reflect, shield...

retal on prot is sexy... used to stance dance for it anyway... but might wanna pop shield block right after or something because on whelps and such i assume you're gonna get parried a little more too.

5v5 prot warrior is amazing. 3v3 gets complicated. 2v2... you might win if you have like a half hour to play.

i'm not going to switch over, because blood elves are dumb... but if you're thinking about rolling a prot warrior for pvp purposes, you might consider a belf or goblin...

49 twink prot warrior was kinda fun. i just did it to get achievements before moving on.


my off spec is fury right now, but that kinda screws up my dps gear for pvp because i don't need all...

what are you guys putting on your cloaks? armor?

reforge herkuml war token to hit or exp or crit.

i know a lot of people are all about parry since the patch... how much parry are we getting from STR now? if it's decent, i'd rather gem STR over parry for more AP, both for threat and generally...

for blood draining i assume it also procs off parry. do we do any damage blocking anymore, or would that only be with a spike now? and why don't they upgrade titanium shield spike so it's not...

been putting some haste into expertise. haven't reforged any mastery yet because it looks dumb to me, but what do i know. i think i'm waiting til it comes on gear in cataclysm.

i usually go for hit/crit because when i think about the gem value of it, that's 2.5 gems worth of stats. i have blood draining on my pvp weapon, but only because mats were cheaper than berserking. ...

it doesn't really matter. even without the next-swing HS, a fast weapon makes your rage and tps a little more steady instead of in bursts.

what about expertise? i have 0 if i'm in all-PvP gear. i don't usually go entirely PvP unless i'm in a large BG and wanna stay alive for more honor, but still... i know exp isn't a priority, but...

i gem for stat bonuses. not because it's a good idea, but because i'm OCD and seeing gray on my items makes me feel inadequate.


p.s. just an passing thought, take it or leave it, but if tanks...

i have both of those trinkets as well (banner of victory, needle-encrusted scorpion) and i'm not sure what to do with them. especially for prot pvp. really not that sexy anymore, especially having...
