Yes I do much higher damage with cleave then deep wounds. Although the damage is funny to see from a prot warrior I find it holds aggro against our demonolgy lock who has no threat mitigation...

here is a gear/spec set that allows me to easily break 10k dps on trash which I even use the first wing bosses in ICC 25. i do of course have the real tank trinks and telents in my other spec.
