Engineering helm and trinket advice

So I made my engineering goggles today and was going to put in a mastery and a dodge cogwheel, until it told me I couldn't and remembered that I'm using the engineering trinket with mastery, dodge, and parry cogwheels. Should I put hit and expertise in the goggles? I'm having no issues with threat, so don't see the need for hit and expertise; it would let me use the goggles for my DPS set as well though. Or should I stop using the engineering trinket to put the cogwheels in the goggles and use a different trinket (I have the dodge passive with dodge on use from Coren Direbrew that I can use instead).

Also, what meta would you guys use? I am between the stamina and spell damage reduction or the dodge and shield block value?


Lastly should I be keeping dodge and parry around the same %age? I know right now I have quite a bit more parry than dodge.

You don't need hit and expertise for threat. You need them so your rage generators land reliably and you can shield block and sheild barrier more. Those are huge parts of your damage reduction since we can no longer block cap.

Edit: Sorry, jumped on that previous point before I even finished reading. As to the meta, it is still the Eternal. As to parry/dodge, it is roughly 3 parry to 1 dodge but it is a highly fluctuating number. There is at least one thread running around here with the graph. Strength is converting at over 90% efficiency to parry so parry is going to be much higher.

Yeah expertise and hit are great to put in the helm. Also for what it's worth I use the Austere meta gem in 90% of fights. (stam/armor)

The Eternal is generally better for TDR and smoothing damage intake though. The austere is better for places where you need raw EHP.
