What's Next? An ability priority Addon with fully customizable logic.

What's Next? is a new addon that suggests the next ideal ability to cast given the player's state and the battlefield conditions.

The logic used to suggest abilities is fully customizable using any of a large (and growing) number of conditional statements from the number of known enemy units to if the player's target is casting.

What's Next? is still in early beta and has default logic for only:

Death Knights

Blood

Druids

Guardian

Paladins

Protection

Warriors

Arms

Fury

Protection

but logic can be built for any spec/class entirely in game.

Feedback is always appreciated, especially on what additional conditional statements people would like implemented.

Been using this a few days and loving it (idefiler6 on curse). While I do know my ability priority well, the visual aid is definitely welcome as well as helpful. Priority queue works much better than slamandawe, clc and spell flash and the custom logic is the best so far bar none.

Something is off with the default logic, on single targets TC should only be used for keeping WB up, sometimes even if TC has just come off CD it wants you to use TC over Dev

I deleted the strings that did that and all of the aoe strings.

that doens't help the author make the addon better though, does it?

By default if
* Your WB and WA debuffs are both fine
* You don't have any rage generators up
* You don't have enough rage to burn any
* And your Shield Slam will already be off CD in less than 2 seconds

it will suggest Thunder Clap merely as a way to delay when you next have to spend a GCD on a low priority ability. It way well be better to go with Devastate there but I am not entirely sure.

Devastate is better if WB is not about to fall off.

Its got the tools for user to easily make it better. I didn't find that in any of the competitors.

In a direct comparison yeah.

But under those conditions we are at the least important point in our rotation, so it makes sense to blow it on Thunder Clap rather than when we may have to put off a Shield Slam for it. I would have to do some sims to know for sure which would be better.

But either way the logic is as easy to customize as I can make it so users are perfectly able to remove the block if prefer.

and lose DPS RPS and thus survivability? I think not.

There is a 30% chance of losing 5 rage, but by saving the GCD later there is potentially extra rage and we know, at worst there will be the same abilities available for that gcd and most likely better ones.

Why are you arguing with the guy who wrote the guide? I'm pretty sure he's done the math better than you have...just accept what he's saying as the truth and fix your mod.

Plus it's not just "losing 5 rage" it's gaining that rage faster, which can be the difference between life and death...refreshing weakened blows earlier is just not.

I was trying to have a discussion , not an argument. I am perfectly willing to accept that Devastate might be better the choice there but why shouldn't I try to understand all the factors involved and come to an intelligent conclusion?

I am certainly not trying to offend anyone, not sure how I might have.

I can se eyour point, but you only need to worry about a TC/SS clash close to the end of WB, if you only wove TC in place of dev when WB has <6s duration left you achieve the exact same goal but you would also gain up to 3 devs early in WB duration. a definite DPS increase and likely higher RPS increae, increasing survivabilty with no downside.

This isn't me telling anyone in this thread that they're being bad...

But I'm starting to see how it's going and all I'm going to say is that keep it to discussions instead of attacking each other. Seriously. As a community, we are able to discuss things rationally as human beings should be doing. I'm not saying there was no discussion or someone started shit. I'm saying keep it discussion.

Makes sense, perhaps if I cap the extra Thunder Clap block to when WB is under 6 seconds, not so urgent as when under 2 seconds but high enough to give a large enough range to get it off where it won't push more important abilities?

Added default logic sets for Blood Death Knights, Protection Paladins and Guardian Druids, they are still a bit rough so I would appreciate any feedback.
