You found that funny? I found that stupid, not funny, and just plain bad business, I have a good feeling anyone with Comcast in the Irene effected areas will be changing ISP/TV/Phone providers pretty fast. I think using the "act of god" to get away with no doing something is just stupid. Using the "act of god" bit is just a way to say you can't cover your own asses in possible loses.
I just got my power back today and called comcast to reconnect my line to the pole. The said they'd be out tomorrow ( we'll see if that happens); they also said they're giving credits for the time lost from Irene damage. I was told to request the credit after my service was restored.
Comcast is an evil empire. Simple as that.
I avoid them at actually large cost to myself.
